ci ho pensato dopo, ma l'FA 400 è fuori dalla mia portata. Qui sul forum qualcuno ne è in possesso, ma non partecipa.
Goatto mi pare l'abbia avuto o provato.. comunque a quel punto, visti i costi, secondo me tanto vale andare sul 150-450, anzi risparmi pure. ;-)
Ma con la Z8 non hai già i lunghi?

allora ti consiglio intanto di goderti il 55-300 che è piccolo e leggero, poi al limiti lo moltiplichi se vedi che non ti basta. Sono sempre 450mm eq.. vedrai che per un uso generico ti basterà nella maggior parte dei casi.
Poi visto che è gratis.. sfruttalo!

Visto che l'attuale 1.4x non ha lenti sporgenti si può provare a moltiplicare qualunque obiettivo poi bisogna vedere il risultato.

Secondo me non si può.
Il moltiplicatore di focale Pentax 1.4 è del 2014, viceversa il 55-300mm è del 2016.

Allora c'è da capire se il moltiplicatore oltre a passare i diaframmi con accoppiato meccanico sia in grado di passare anche quelli con accoppiato elettronico. Nel caso non li passi non è compatibile (non si potrebbe chiudere il diaframma).

Io il Pentax 1.4 x l'ho usato sempre su ottiche cosiddette normali e non con quelle più recenti con diaframma elettronico come è appunto il 55-300mm.
Questa l'ho scattata con il 100mm macro accoppiato al rear converter 1.4 x

Phsystem, grazie per il link dove è segnato essere compatibile con il PLM (come con altre ottiche a diaframma elettronico come gli star DFA 50 ed 85, anche se su questi ultimi come tutti gli obiettivi FF non mantiene la possibilità di usarli su FF, immagino sia stato pensato per APSC e vignetti su FF).

Io nella foto dove ho messo il link l'ho accoppiato al 100mm macro che è per FF

Preso con il copia incolla dalla scheda delle caratteristiche
