To Whom It May Concern,
on 7 June 2016 I bought the Sigma 150-600 Sport at Fotocolombo Srl (Viale Verdi 95, 23807 Merate (Lecco), Italy) with an official M-Trading warranty. The serial number of the lens is: XXX-YYY-ZZZ
On 7 April 2017 I shipped the lens to Fotocolombo Srl in order to fix these problems:
- the zoom ring meets heavy resistence between 150 and 200mm
- under light rain, water seeps in, fogging up the lenses
On 20 April 2017, Fotocolombo told me that the repair cost estimate is €595,00 and that the damage was probably due to a bump.
The repair cost estimate was made by AD Service (Via Privata Liguria, 3, 20090 Fizzonasco - Pieve Emanuele (Milano), Italy) so I called them, explaining that the lens never suffered any bumps and it has always been carried inside a heavily padded camera backpack. They told me the lens got damaged as I usually carry the backpack in the car boot and for this reason they can not repair it under warranty.
As written before, I use a professional heavily padded camera backpack and, in several years of use, any of my photography gear - even the cheapest one - has never got damage during transportation and it's really hard to me for think that what you call a "built like a tank top-notch professional lens" can get damaged in such an easy way! I also find out that I'm not the only Sigma 150-600 Sport owner who has the same problems with this lens.
I would therefore like to ask Sigma to recognise I was not responsible for the damage, that it was probably due to a manufacturing fault and that AD Service should repair it under warranty without any charge to me.
I look forward to your feedback.

nel frattempo mi sto informando per altri lidi, in caso non funzionasse la class action.
ho trovato un riparatore che, spiegato il problema, dovrebbe riuscire a sostituire i cuscinetti in teflon rotti o usciti fuori sede con circa 100€, che aggiunti ai 90€ che AD Services vuole per aver fatto il preventivo sono comunque 400€ in meno.
ora la palla passa a Sigma.
mi raccomando scrivete anche voi in modo da far capire che non sono l'unico! |

Forse e dico forse...era meglio modificare il titolo di questa discussione...in modo di far capire ai lettori e a chi possiede questa lente che non riguarda l'utilizzo o le sue prestazioni...dato che ce ne sono molte altre...ma di far capire che il 150-600 S può e sottolineo può...avere un problema di progetto...per farla breve il titolo del post io lo avrei descritto in questo modo..Sigma 150-600 S difetto di costruzione? questo ovviamente per catturare tutti quelli che hanno questa lente e hanno qualche problema...parere personale ovviamente... |

Secondo me più che errore di progetto si tratta di un lotto difettoso... prima di questi giorni non avevo mai letto ne sentito di questo problema al Sigma Sport eppure è fuori da un po'... però posso anche sbagliarmi... |
