Rigel, non ho confrontato ef 100-400 Is III con un 100-400 Sigma.
Ho detto che il Canon in questione + extender 1.4 III lavorava su una focale paragonabile al Sigma 150-600 S che avevi citato.
Col quale eventualmente andava fatto il confronto.
Anche questo Sigma costa meno (e pesa di più), ma non così tanto meno.
Per me a 400 mm, anche su apsc, il più delle volte si è corti. Poi dipende da molti fattori, soprattutto dove si fotografa e se con capanno mobile.

Immagino che le ottiche ef funzionino molto bene sulle mirrorless con anello adattatore.
Quando farò il passaggio, prima di cercare nuovi obbiettivi proverò il materiale che già possiedo.

Specie in Sicilia, i mm sembrano non bastare mai
Un mio carissimo amico, nonché parente, mi consigliava addirittura di buttarmi su un 300 f/2.8 (prima serie) e di duplicarlo...

Comunque ho appena provato ad attaccare il 2x iii su 70 200 is iii alla r6, la velocita' af rimane ottima a meno di non andare dalla minima distanza di maf ad infinito (problema tipico del dual pixel e quindi pure di r3)
