Quando, parecchi anni fa, alcuni anni prima della caduta del muro, visitai il Bauhaus a Dessau (mi ricordo le sedie Wassily originali, con la stoffa strappata e brutalmente restaurata in stile DDR, con orrendi rammendi a zig zag fatti con la macchina da cucire) feci una foto dal basso ai balconi. Solo qualche anno dopo, comprando una ristampa del testo gropius bauhaus bauten dessau (sic! tutto minuscolo) scoprii che una foto simile l'avevano fatta altri, ovviamente meglio di me (Lyonel Feininger e un meno noto Wutke di Mosca). Probabilmente più tardi ancora vidi anche questa di Moholy Nagy (che mi pare la migliore e come inquadratura ancora più simile alla mia...Sorry)

Sono sincero, ho visto mostre di Ghirri, ma non riesco ad apprezzarlo se non in alcuni scatti

Quella di Ghirri è una poetica dei "non luoghi", estremamente rarefatta. Anche io ho impiegato po' per arrivare ad aprezzarlo.
A differenza di un Franco Fontana che ho scopertio alla mostra "Venzia 79 - La fotografia". Ricordo bene l'impatto che le sue foto ebbero su di me, accentuato dal fatto che erano tra le poche immagini a colori della mostra (all'epoca il pregiudizio che la foto d'autore dovesse essere in bianco e nero era ancora abbastanza radicato).
Invece non ricordo quando ho visto per la prima volta una fotografia di Ghirri. Eppure ora come ora mi sento di collocarlo, anche lui, tra i miei preferiti.
