Sono d'accordo con quanto ha scritto Mauro, io faccio foto di avifauna saltuariamente quando mi capita durante passeggiate o vado in oasi con capanni predisposti.
Scatto sempre in M con auto iso, uso Nikon D500, più di recente ho anche provato con le Z, ma per tutte l'esposimetro di solito espone bene anche con le garzette o uccelli in volo. Raramente devo sottoesporre di 0.3 o usare la misurazione spot. Quando avevo Pentax all'opposto con le garzette era un dramma, la bruciatura era sempre in agguato se non andavo in manuale completo. Per cui come si diceva è necessario conoscere bene la propria attrezzatura, sapere come esporre e a quali aperture rende al meglio il tele
Come tempi di scatto anch'io cerco di non scendere sotto al 1/1000, scendo solo quando gli iso salgono oltre i 3200
