Di Irene Kung ho appena sfogliato il libro TREES in libreria. Premetto che io propendo per lo stile "classico" di Vittore Fossati di cui ho il libro il Tanaro a Masio vol.1 e 2 (che continuo a sfogliare con estremo piacere). Ma mi incuriosisce la questione tecnica: qualcuno ha visto il libro Trees della Kung e sa dare indicazioni su come sono effettuate le immagini? A mio avviso le immagini degli alberi sono scattate in ambiente naturale poi in postproduzione è stato fatto uno scontorno ed è stato inserito uno sfondo ripreso in studio ma lo sfondo è stato applicato non con uno scontorno netto del ramage e foliage ma applicandolo come livello che viene sfumato con parziale sovrapposizione alle chiome esterne dell'albero

Non so, Andrea.
Guardando anche altre sue serie sul suo sito, ho più l'impressione che possa aver scattato a soggetti già abbastanza isolati in partenza. Poi ha scontornato il soggetto ma solo per applicare una fortissima sfocatura allo sfondo naturale. Oppure per chiuderlo a nero.

Albert Renger-Patzsch (1897–1966), tra i massimi esponenti in fotografia della "Neue Sachlichkeit - Nuova Obbiettività"*, è noto soprattutto per le sue fotografie di fabbriche e le sue macro, ma ha anche realizzato notevoli immagini di alberi:
