Il famosissimo Ponte dei Sospiri di Venezia,è da sempre associato alle leggende più disparate. La verità però è un'altra ed è di natura piuttosto tragica. Questo ponte chiuso e a doppio passaggio era usato, al tempo dei Dogi,come passaggio dei reclusi dalle prigioni al Palazzo Ducale per essere giudicati.Venne attribuito questo nome perchè ,i prigionieri attraversandolo ,sospiravano appunto alla prospettiva di vedere per l'ultima volta il mondo esterno. Le prigioni della Serenissima avevano infatti la grande reputazione di essere inevadibili.Solo un uomo ci riuscì : il famosissimo Giacomo Casanova il quale scrisse anche un libro dedicato alla sua evasione.
