AF 300mm f/2.8 IF-ED a 800€!!!
Cmq proprio ieri ho fatto delle foto ad un pettirosso con il tamron a 600mm e tempi di 1/200. Non penso che col 300 duplicato avrei potuto farle, neanche con un monopiede.
Inoltre pur avendo scattato a TA la qualità mi sembra più che accettabile quindi credo che alla fine resteró con lo zoom

Beh Lorenzo dipende anche da cosa fotografi.
Io faccio soprattutto soggetti lenti o statici su posatoio. Difficilmente faccio avifauna in volo.
Quindi per il mio genere molto meglio un buon stabilizzatore che un af veloce.
Poi se ti riferisci alla qualità ottica, non saprei quanta differenza c'è tra un AF e un AF-S

@Jogas...la mia affermazione era dovuta al fatto che sia la 1° serie AF...che il suo successivo AF (N)...appunto New...hanno l' autofocus "meccanico" tramite presa di forza.
Ora...x portarlo a 600mm ci puoi montare SOLO il TC 2x Kenko...o Sigma vecchio...che hanno appunto la levetta x riportare la presa di forza...ma se il 300 è già Lentino di suo...figurati con un altro aggeggio meccanico in mezzo.
Te lo dico in quanto ho il fratello "minore" f4...kenko 1,4x...e Tamrex.

Ho avuto il 300/2,8 AFS (prima serie comunemente chiamata Mk1) ed é un vetro eccezionale.
La sua tenuta con tutti i moltiplicatori é sorprendente e paragonabile al 500 che uso oggi.

ma, se credi, nelle mie gallerie ne trovi diversi.

Mi sento di consigliartelo senza se e senza ma.

Con il Tamron, ma, in minor misura anche con altri vetri come il Nikon 200-400 che oggi posseggo, non c'é paragone.
L'unico problema che potrebbe esserci é la reperibilità di pezzi di ricambio.
Verifica anche la precisione della MAF. Quando acquistai il mio trovai un esemplare che soffriva di Back focus. Tieni conto che, in quelle due serie (intendo gli AFS - che hanno preceduto le due versioni VR) la regolazione non può avvenire via SW.

Io terrei il tamron.
Non uso nikon ma dopo un periodo prova ho venduto il canon 400 f5.6 L e tenuto il tamron,
lo zoom e lo stabilizzatore sono troppo comodi e comuqnue a qualità il tamron si difende molto molto bene.

Come qualità si difende piuttosto bene e come versatilità è insostituibile.

No no, fermo, come qualità si difende "molto molto bene", non "piuttosto" ;-)
Per essere uno zoom che arriva a 600mm mi ha tirato fuori scatti con una nitidezza assurda,
quando li ho visti al 100%.... Eeeek!!!Eeeek!!!Eeeek!!!Eeeek!!!
onestamente o ci spendi bei soldi e migliori la qualità o tieni il tamron e vivi felice.
