Vero, ma nel confronto con Fuji le ottiche Leica partono MOLTO avvantaggiate e non gareggiano ad armi pari. L'enorme vantaggio delle ottiche Leica è dovuto alla mancanza di autofocus che permette di utilizzare tutti componenti metallici, a cominciare dall'elicoide di messa a fouco. Nelle ottiche autofocus invece si è costretti a posizionare le lenti dentro un cilindro di plastica, su binari di plastica, ecc. altrimenti un peso eccessivo pregiudicherebbe la velocitá dell'autofocus. Se domani Leica si mettesse a produrre obiettivi autofocus M o R non potrebbe più utilizzare componenti interni in metallo e dovrebbe rinunciare a parecchia precisione meccanica. Tutto ciò solo per dire che, se è vero che la precisione meccanica degli obiettivi Leica è fuori discussione, è altrettanto vero che un obiettivo autofocus non può essere prodotto con gli stessi materiali e la stessa meccanica fine di un obiettivo manual focus.
