Da oggi sono attive alcune modifiche per il caricamento foto:

1) il limite di peso per le [negozio 24] alta risoluzione è stato aumentato da 10 a 12 megabytes, e il limite di dimensioni da 8000px a 10000px sul lato lungo, in modo da permettere il caricamento anche delle foto a 50 megapixel delle nuove Canon e Sony in arrivo nei prossimi mesi.

2) la versione ad alta risoluzione e quella 'standard' non possono più essere caricate separatamente: ora basta caricare un singolo file, alla risoluzione più alta che si vuole condividere (da un minimo di 1000px a un massimo di 10000px), e il sistema creerà automaticamente le versioni a risoluzione ridotta. Questa modifica è stata fatta nell'ottica del supporto completo per gli schermi 'retina' (ad altissima risoluzione), che sarà attivo tra circa una settimana e porterà grandi miglioramenti per chi utilizza questi schermi (che sono sempre più diffusi e nel giro di qualche anno diventeranno lo standard!).

Non ho ben capito; per pigrizia non ho mai messo l'HD, salvo una volta su espressa richiesta. Se presento come al solito uno scatto a 1200 pxls e 450 kb andrò automaticamente incontro ad una riduzione?

@ Francesco: no, nessun problema :-) le foto a 1200 px sono accettate come sempre e non vengono ridimensionate.

Usare il termine retina non sarebbe del tutto giusto. Non è uno standard, lo usa solo Apple, e per molti iPhone vuol dire avere una risoluzione inferiore all'HD (1280x720). Anche per gli schermi dei Mac, molto spesso sono risoluzioni vicine al QHD, o 2k (2560x1440).
