Pros: Beautiful rendering, size, build quality ...

Cons: It could have more apture blades.

Opinion: It's my first Contax G lens. The Sonnar 90mm is cheapest Contax G lens. So I tried with an adapter I bought from aliexpress. There are two adapters. One for the 35mm, 45mm and 90mm and the other for 28mm, 21mm and 16mm. There is no adapter for Contax G zoom 35-70. The first shot was a close up of a Abart logo on a 595. I was impressed. I have done the shot again with a current lens. There was no difference in sharpness. The Sonnar has field curvation while the modern lens has a flat field. I prefer the look of the Sonnar in this case. I did some other shots, but there was no light - no pics you need to see. Then I took a picture of a tiny monument. Just to see the bokeh. I'm still happy with the lens. Today I did some cityscape pictures. The lens has a good resoltution. There are many details in the frame. Lenses which perform better are larger and more expensive. The good thing is that my Nikon Z6 II has new mission, but it works also well on a Nikon Z7II. The Contax G lenses are quite similar except the 16mm. They are all razor sharp accross the frame.

Pros: Exceptional lens in the chromatic rendering, light and robust at the same time, sharpness already at TA maintained even at the edges

Cons: Don't have it

Opinion: Flawless construction goal, used on fujifilm bodies with adapter (fluid in the dial for focus) completely enhances the already exceptional color qualities. machine bodies. It is small and light but in the hand immediately gives a feeling of robustness not belied by the construction. Hard to find on the market, I found a well-kept one, practically new, around 200 euros and I do not think to ever take it off my kits. It's an exceptional lens.

Pros: color reproduction, sharpness, good blurred, and mechanical construction

Cons: if you choose it for mirrorless you have to choose the ring that has the ring of softer can mesa in focus, because all optical contax G to have a grounding pin focus type Nikon D series

Opinion: Usually when choosing a view to adapt to a mirrorless is a problem because unlike modern optics that project the image on the right sensor, the old optical (even the most preguate) usually are not so, and the image appears always a bit soft wide open, trying this is perfect, crisp even at f2.8, excellent color rendition as all Zeiss, beautiful even blurred, and the mechanical construction, need only choose the suitable ring for focus and without spending a lot you have a view from portrait exceptional
