Pros: Photo section, autonomy, design, dual Sim.
Cons: Phone section, camera ledge.
Opinion: Given that I come from the excellent Huawei P9 that I had to reluctantly leave, in addition to a 60-day attempt in the OIS world with the SE 2020 immediately aborted, the orientation was on a mid-range product with a good photographic apparatus and that had the management of the double Sim. On paper the Xiaomi seemed to win, but with some doubts about the phone section, you still had to try to judge it and sometimes it depends on the carrier or the area where you move. Apart from that, given the weight and size, the search for the cover was not trivial, it had to protect the ledge of the lenses and have the edges to surmount the display, as well as absorb shocks due to falls. At the time of writing, the Android version is the 11th while the MIUI is the 12.0.1, the device is brandless. It suffers from problems due to the proximity sensor, in a nutshell when you pull the face to the device unwanted functions can activate, the most annoying is the activation of the speakerphone, if you are listening with the sticky ear you suddenly get a bang with a few decibels too much and I assure you that it is not pleasant. The line often falls while you're talking, this happens with both Sim's that have different handlers, so the problem makes me think it's almost certainly attributable to the device. Sometimes it freezes and doesn't respond to commands on the touch screen, so if you can't refresh the page you have to go back to the previous screen. An example, the other night I was using an APP with metronome and I could no longer turn it off: I felt like crashing it to the ground... then I preferred to divert the shot on the couch. Another drawback I encountered with incoming voicemails on WhatsApp that are often inaudible at first attempts. This morning the apotheosis: after closing a conversation, I got a call, you couldn't see anything, it just sounded, of course I couldn't even get the communication, the keys didn't even appear. So I turned it off and on again in the hope of seeing a message with a number to invoke, but nothing. I hope it wasn't a customer or at least a business call, it would be further annoying. Before writing this review I still read online the opinions that appeared on the various Blogs, the problems I encountered are shared with other customers; some hope that later versions of MIUI ROMs will solve the problem, others claim that the problem is due to Google....... and think that before buying it, reading user reviews, someone complained that there was no headphone jack jack. Update of 28/05/21: I read that the new MIUI 12.5 has been announced, it should solve the problems resulting from the transition of Android 10 to version 11... we hope well. |
