Sharp already at 1.4, 2.8 I would say perfect, as it closes obviously it reaches the apex (in my opinion f8, but I would not close beyond f10-11 to avoid diffraction). Fast focusing, great colors. Used for landscapes, set portraits, it has never disappointed me. It has a really good stabilization, so much so that on a tripod you don't turn off photos are always blurry. Ideal companion if you shoot mainly at this focal length.
