Pros: Price, lightweight, compact, sharp, fast AF, VR, weather sealed, build quality, extra 10mm of zoom :D

Cons: Maybe missing that tripod mount, but i use L bracket on my Nikon d750 so it doesn't matter for me, actually less stuff in my bag :D Also using VR i hear very quite sound, i guess cuz of VR on...

Opinion: I got this lens for landscape photography or more for shooting mountain scenes. Its great lens, i used it first time in Nepal and damn i loved it every single time. Snappy, great zoom, sharp, VR works well, focus and so on. I got this lens instead of 70-200mm f2.8 cuz of lightweight, price and f4, cuz for my style i shoot mostly f8-f22, so why overpay and overloud your shoulders :D I think its great landscape photography lens and i highly recommend. Tamron really did it well with this baby ;) Also this lens in Japan won kind of innovation award, cuz this lens is if full of specs. Really!

Pros: Price, weight, construction, front zoom ring

Cons: Optical quality

Opinion: I've had this zoom for about 7 months enough to get an idea. As written in the pros, the price certainly overshadows everything that is negative in this lens. At full aperture the quality is acceptable, it slightly lacks sharpness and contrast, but from f 6.3 improved markedly. I recommend it anyway if you are looking for a battle zoom, versatile and light with an excellent value for money.

Pros: Build quality, sharpness, stabilization, weight

Cons: Easy to go up with ISO, does not work with mirrorless without FW update, awkward zoom ring, autofocus that depends a lot on the machine

Opinion: I took it to start using lenses more pushed beyond 85mm and I must say that as a first impact it is definitely positive. Very good build quality, sharpness and I'm happy to say that F4 or F2.8 at these focal lengths in terms of blur changes relatively little. You feel a bit the difference up to 100mm, plus it does not change significantly. The real difference is that unless you shoot on sunny days (or with spotlights/flash), it is really rare to shoot at less than 1600 ISO. Needless to say, therefore, that the average yield of the photos is a little more "poor" than brighter lenses, especially if we take into account the fixed ones. The comparison with the 85mm 1.8 is often merciless. Stabilization helps a bit but doesn't work miracles. However, the discreet yield and low weight make it an excellent choice to carry around without too much banging, especially for photographs of events. The real advantage is the really competitive price, which added to the weight, in the end makes you turn a blind eye, especially if you have a car with a good sensor that "puts the piece on it" and lets you take home great photos anyway. The autofocus must be said, however, that it depends a lot on the machine. I have a D750 and a Z6. With the Z6 it is very responsive and easily usable even in conditions of fairly fast autofocus. The D750 struggles much longer and is at the limit of usability. I was hoping that with the update of the FW of the lens the thing would improve but unfortunately this was not the case. On the Z6 I would recommend it in 98% of uses, on the D750 make sure that you do not need it for things with a minimum of "action" otherwise it is not feasible. Perhaps the biggest flaw is that if you don't update the FW, there's no way to make it work with mirrorless cameras. It will give you error and will in fact be unusable. And the tamron tap-in console are another 50-70€ to spend. Luckily I already owned it and the problem did not arise, but if you have an ML it is a cost to be taken into account (or to find someone to lend it to you / update the FW). Last thing that can be improved is the zoom ring. Being covered by the hood when "placed" on the lens, in fact we are obliged either to remove the hood or put it to the lens. Otherwise we will not be able to zoom. Here too nothing serious, but it would have been enough to reverse the zoom ring with that of the focus to avoid running into the problem. Basically a great lens and looking a bit 'in the used you can take it at really ridiculous figures compared to the many 70-200 F / 2.8 that there are around.

Pros: Sharpness, weight, price, blurry, color rendering

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Opinion: Bought for street and motocross races, what to say, it excels. I tested it on 5d iv and on eos R, the AF is fast and hardly loses the subject. The blurry and very pleasant, the same applies to the sharpness that is excellent in the center, obviously at the edges we have a little loss, but nothing dramatic, it is still excellent. The construction quality I find average, more than good but nothing exciting. Good also the tropicalization that I have put to the test several times. It is around 400 euros new with official tamron guarantee, at this price if you are looking for a 70-200 f4 this is the right choice.

Pros: Sharpness, blurry, colors (whatever you say), build quality, price.

Cons: MAF speed not suitable for very fast subjects. A little heavy.

Opinion: Portraits (despite only f/4) and landscapes are his bread. Excellent even in close ups (closed by at least one stop), given the magnification of almost 1:3 at the minimum focus distance. What to say, I was very tempted by the Canon 70-200 f/4 L IS II, but coming back from other recent purchases, I didn't want to spend too much and I was still discovered canvas side having switched to FF. Documenting myself on this Tamron, hearing about it only well and overcoming the distrust towards the brand, also given by the bad experience with the 70-300 "WC", I decided to "try my luck" (I only own original optics). What about, for my photographic genres, never money was better spent. The 70-210 is always sharp (sometimes too much), at every focal and opening and from angle to corner. Only at the maximum focal point is there a very slight drop that, especially in portraiture, I consider more a value than a defect. Another great value for me is the quality of the blurry and the detachment of the floors that he manages to give to my shots. I highly recommend it to those who do not have lightning autofocus needs, do not want to spend too much, but at the same time do not want to give up quality. For optical performance I consider it fully superimposed on the canon f/4 IS counterpart before version that I had the opportunity to try several times. Fully satisfied. Vote 9.5.
