Pros: Versatile.. light even too much... Economic...

Cons: It is, of course, a compromise and it cannot be a blade. Rather.. it's never enough... if it slipped towards a 15.. or about a 400?.. I'd be willing to spend more.. to carry more weight to have an even more pushed lens... there are fixes that are bigger, weigh and cost more....

Opinion: I started from the very light.. Canon IXUS, Olimpus TG-2.. then a Panasonic bridge with a ridiculous sensor... I have sought the best compromise, even though I want maximum flexibility. A decent APS sensor with dynamic range... autonomy and an all-rounder optics as far as possible. I also have a sigma 17-50 2.8... that I use only under special conditions.. where I seek resolution.. a Nikon 18-140.. excellent compromise.. but I can't give up the 16-300.... What different would I like?.. a stronger optics.. more expensive heavier.. to be able to get to 10~12 megapixels effective.. with a 15-400.. or a 15-600... I don't care if it weighs a pound and a half...

Pros: Versatility, lightness, price, fair general quality.

Cons: 16 mm distortion, chromatic aberrations.

Opinion: I compared this target with the Nikon 18-140 and the 70-300 Tamron vr. I used 5 target usaf 1951 (those that were once used for the objective tests) a central one and 4 at the edges. At full aperture (ta) at 16 mm the Tamron is surprising. While in the center the Tam and the Nik are equivalent to the edges the Tam is definitely better. A f8 both improve. At 50mm a ta in the center no winner while at the edges the Nik gets even worse. At f8 both improve. At 70mm the Tamron 70-300 comes into play. The super zoom 16-300 holds up well the comparison, both in ta and f8. Parity. At 140 mm at ta the Nik is better than the Tam 16-300 because of the AC of the latter. But you notice at a 100% magnification, minimal difference. At f8 the Tam 16-300 recovers a lot with the ac managing to be almost in a draw. At 140 mm the Tamron 70-300 is better than both. Now the challenge is only between 16-300 and 70-300. 70-300 is better at all focal lengths and diaphragms. But anyway the 16-300 comes out with his head held high. The most "macro" of all is 16-300, but the 70-300 being of superior quality even enlarging the image remains better. The af seems to me fast and accurate while the stabilizer is 90% reliable, but in that 90% does its duty really well. My conclusion. Is it worth replacing the Nikon 18-140 with the 16-300? Yes definitely. Taking into account that in focal lengths between 18-140 it is sometimes clear that 16-300 is even better and between 140-300 it is all gold cast. Is it worth replacing the Tamron 70-300 with the 16-300? No, the first one is better. Is it worth replacing the 18-140 and the 70-300 together with the 16-300? NI! If you are not looking for the super quality between the 70-300 focal lengths, the 16-300 is definitely worth it. Keep in mind that in addition to the overall dimensions between 18-140 and 70-300, together with the weight, a total of 1255 g against 540 g. Then the versatility of 16-300 is enormous. I use it especially if I go on a motorbike or long trips in the mountains. For the sheds or a short road I have the 150-600 Sigma sport. Otherwise I bring both, the 150-600 in the backpack and pull it out in case it's worth it.

Pros: focal excursion, price, sharpness at short focal length, AF.

Cons: strong chromatic aberrations above 200mm, not very bright.

Opinion: I state that this is my first goal after 18-55 from kit canon, so the review that I will be compared to the latter.rnavevo fear of buying it having read conflicting reviews on this goal, but at the end for an offer found I bought it shortly with the premise that if I had not satisfied I would give it back.rnallora in sharpness up to 150 mm is great, I pulled out beautiful shots especially at 16mm, unfortunately the more you go up more shows its limits, above the 200mm above all I realized strong chromatic aberrations, which in any case are corrected quickly in post.rnl'AF I found it better than that of 18-55, where I had problems.rnè a goal not to be used at closed, where it is very affected by the fact that it is so dark, but outside there are no problems, and excellent results.rnconclusion: to learn is a great goal, gives you the opportunity with not too much money to understand which focal lengths they are for you and sfruttthe more (I for example I am realizing that 80% of the photos between 16 and 60mm shots) is also valid as a goal and you can make great photos.rn I regretted having bought it, obviously it is a goal only to learn or for the light trips, for those looking for the real quality I discourage.rnrnps. not having the stm have the opportunity to correct the autofocus while shooting was a turn.rn

Pros: Lightweight, focal length, footprint, weight and price

Cons: For my amateur uses for now I do not see it

Opinion: I am a holder of nikon 7200 and travel a lot. I was a handyman who would allow me to travel lightly. I had some doubt, but I have to say that I have taken some good shots even in low light conditions. Good autofocus and vr system. So if one is a lover of perfection buy three four fixed goals it spends five times what I have spent and traveling with eight pounds on the backpack. And if you see pictures on a monitor you do not always notice it ..

Pros: Versatile, light, crisp, "almost macro", pleasing bokeh, minimum distance of MAF, tropicalization.

Cons: If you want to be fussy, it's not really a 300mm, the new price though for what it offers them all.

Opinion: I had this lens a few years ago, coupled with a Canon 700D, and when I realized how to use it, I liked it a lot. Moving to FF, reluctantly, I sold it but I always went looking for a "handyman" that would allow me to go home with a go-go or on the go. Having an Aps-c body, I took advantage of an Amazon opportunity and resumed it. I use it with a 7D2 for the "read" outputs and honestly do not know what one might ask for more than one optic that maintains good sharpness - at least 200mm - already in TA (beyond just close 1, max 2 stop And sharpness returns to more than appreciable values), always considering the price range but above all the use it makes of such an optic. I find it particularly convenient to go in an instant and above all without having to change optics, from "macro" to "pushed" telescopes, especially in the countryside"I go to butterflies" or insects. Obviously it's not the 100-400 IS II, but weighs well over 1kg less and anyway, working a little in pp, the results you get do not regret having left home for a walk without a slut, the big brother .rnPacific blurry and natural colors, fast enough for MAF and great stabilizer, although I noticed that taking longer than 1/250 "and keeping it off, will be my impression, but the photos are crisper ... RnFollowing not being able to use it with 6D, but you can not have it all and anyway, the fact that it is tropicalized, I would prefer to pair with 7D2.rnIn conclusion, I am very pleased to have taken it back between "whites" and " Whites "that I have and I appreciate, this" little "Tamron does not matter at all!
