Pros: Size (see below), excellent autofocus, no burst blackouts, good light files

Cons: Size (see below), Digital Noise in Shadow, Optical Distortion, Slow Operation, Price

Opinion: I had the IV version of this little camera. The VII is light years ahead in terms of auto focus and the sensor allows sequential shots without obscuring the monitor and viewfinder. Otherwise, I found myself worse. The focal length is now much wider but the quality is lower than the previous one. The distortion, for those who shoot in RAW and post produce, is very high. Noise in shadows is very noticeable even at low ISOs. In good light conditions it changes a lot, but this applies to all rooms. The size, in my opinion, is the delight but also the cross of the RX100. You put it in your pocket, it's true, but without an extension of the handle, it slips out of your hand all the time. The other problem, which in this case it shares with the IV, is a bit of slowness in ignition. I believe that used in JPG and with all the corrections active (geometry, DRO etc.), it can give satisfaction to those who go out with the family and want to shoot moving scenes with simplicity and reliability. The focal length, sensor size, and less exasperated file processing make it superior to the smartphone almost all the time. Perhaps for those who think of adding it to the main kit to have something "always in their pocket" while conceding a little on quality, disappointment is more likely. That was the case for me.

Pros: Very small, very light, good IQ despite the sensor, crazy autofocus especially in portrait, excellent focal range

Cons: Tiny. Expensive.

Opinion: IT'S SMALL ... applies both for and against. Let's say it's like a pack of cigarettes. A bit slippery, so grip is necessary. Classic menu of the sony prior to the SIII so those who come from sony do not have much difficulty in orienting themselves. Good IQ, white balance and very good burst especially on moving subjects. He doesn't miss one. It is not suitable for meditative photography, although it works very well in priority mode. I have a complete oly kit, a Sony A7IV and a Sigma SDQuattro. Especially the latter is great for the meditated photo. This sony is a perfect travel companion that on Auto expresses in an "arrogant" way all its firepower. To ALWAYS have the car behind is perfect. Stitches and shots and the photo comes out definitely perfect. Considering the sensor as well the ISO seal is good. As well as stabilization. Focal range from 24 (gorgeous) to 200 equiv suitable not to make us lose 99% of the shots. It costs a lot but I had a crazy "kick of the ass" on amazon warehouse with 30% discount, and I had another 250 euros of amazon vouchers for Christmas and so I made it my own for a really ridiculous amount.

Pros: Sensor, autofocus, burst, Raw quality

Cons: Anonymous look (but it can also be a merit), few manual commands

Opinion: The Sony RX100 VII is definitely the best compact I've ever had. Technically flawless. The strengths that strike me most are: the quality of the sensor given the size that also churns out excellent Raw; the performance of the autofocus and the absence of blackouts when shooting the burst are at the level of the A9; the zoom less bright than the VI but all-rounder. For the street it is perfect. I find it very practical also for videos, a feature on all the 3.5 microphone jack. Obviously the battery life is limited but it is so light that a pair of spare accumulators fit very well in the pocket of the jeans. The only real practical note I do are the few physical commands present, always very welcome to me, but there would have been no room to put other keys and rings. For a better grip I added a grip with accessory slide (not present on the machine)
