Pros: Yield, functionality

Cons: Menu, ergonomics, LCD screen

Opinion: Bought at the end of 2016 and still in my possession, I took this camera as a backup when I needed a pocket camera, for non-critical shots but that could still generate quality portraits without the volume requirements of a DSLR / Mirrorless. The yield of the 1-inch sensor and the Zeiss lens were, for the time, fantastic. I took the most viewed portraits of my Reddit profile and generally I never had major problems (obviously adjusting the expectations to the size and price of the camera). If from the point of view of quality and performance I have never had anything to complain about, unfortunately I can not say the same of ergonomics (practically non-existent), menu (absurdly 90s, but unfortunately Sony will always be behind in this theme), and LCD screen, inscrutable outside in natural light situation. LCD screen that is also incredibly prone to scratches while keeping the camera in the same environments where I store the smartphone (trouser pocket or small backpack pocket). I fear that the entire range of these cameras is, in 2023, obsolete and I keep it more as a backup in case of emergencies than for actual necessity, although I think that now, apart from rare cases of shots at particular inclinations, a high-end smartphone (from Pixel 7 PRO onwards) does the exact same things at a lower price (and with all the features of a smartphone). In 2023 I would give up compact and bridge, even high-end.

Pros: A miniature reflex, pocket size (pockets of standard size, garments with a few X)

Cons: Price, delicacy, menu not very intuitive, small keys

Opinion: It's basically a concentrate of everything a professional would want on a reflex, clearly compared to a 1 ' ' sensor and speed. With The advantage of extreme portability, and I don't think there are many others with the same merits. Excellent sensor and then images, flash and viewfinder embedded in the body. Against a high price (each upgrade costs €400 more or slightly less). But beware, treat it as a model pro, delicacy, elusive look, to be touched or touch with a pressure of the fingers of a few Newton! If it falls, and it is not so difficult if it is not relegated for decades in the Cabinet of family jewelry, are pains for the wallet. The assistance (I would say inadequate for the experience), adjusts the cost of a probable repair at the price of the item and certainly not at the cost of the pieces. But idem goes for objects, machines and tools that stand out for technology, appeal and uniqueness. Good Luck!

Pros: The photos he makes, EVF (for those few times I will use it)

Cons: Menu (Bad), ergonomics (poor even for the category), keys (too small), display in selfie mode, price

Opinion: I was looking for a compact to carry around with practicality and lightness to resume those extemporaneous moments in which I did not find myself behind the reflex (left at home because too heavy, cumbersome or just inappropriate in a given context) and for which at the end I used the phone (that is that we always have it with us). Just proved I was immediately amazed by the details, definition and sharpness of his shots. Then I compared her for a whole day with the Canon G7X. How much I liked that Canon!!! What difference!!! The menu, the ergonomics, the touchscreen (with excellent sensitivity), the display screen that when you use it in selfie mode is not covered by the camera body and continues to show the indications of shutter... and many other pros compared to Sony. But in the end what counts is the output, the image that produces the compact... and on this the RX100, for me, won 10 to 1 on the Canon. All (only) this! Images that sometimes (often) failed to pull out even with the 6d with the Sigma Art or the Tamron G2. Amazing! But how many expletives on his tiny keys or his menu maze or when he slips from his hands and you can not find a way to keep it steady... Bleah! But when you look at his shots: STOP! Do not think about nothing else and look at the crop to 200% with a sneer of full satisfaction (ah, I have not yet had the need to use it but.... has an excellent electronic viewfinder)

Pros: Digital Optical Viewfinder, Slider Flash, Lens Quality, 4K video I find these emerging among this magnificent instrument made by SONY

Cons: Ergonomics (but it's a compact and does not make text) and perhaps the price that makes it a bit hesitant tropicalization (you have to keep it with a cellphone)

Opinion: I came from APS-C and Full frame of the Canon brand and I needed a car to carry on for my extreme sports (kayak / MTB / ski) and thanks to Sony L I found to maintain a really good quality to envy the aps / ce co.rnDon't forget to have it in your pocket and with a tin-pack that you find by decathlon you bring it everywhere.rnOf very satisfied! versatility and comfort make you forget the money you spent on shopping..but it all costs as an iPhone!

Pros: Size, tilt screen, viewfinder, flash, autofocus, integrated filter, 4k video, slow motion, front bezel, nfc.

Cons: Software, Noise, No Slip Flash, Paid Applications (Timelapse).

Opinion: No doubt a big (but not the size) machine and perhaps the only one with so many features and compactness. Fully upgrade software: rn- The front ring is great to adjust a parameter of choice (from the menus) but there is no The ability to make key combinations (eg with the fn key or the center or 4 arrows) makes this slower when the scene is being prepared. Rn- When changing modes, it is useless to continue to display the help screen, users of the screen This machine is quite competent and they know what A, P, M etc. means. The screen remains accessible during long exposures and is not very good as well as consuming battery. Rn- Menu with lots of options, some other useful no Does not allow for intuitive use of the machine. It would be interesting to have more information on some commands when pressing the c key (like nikon for info button). Rnrn- After long shots and video the machine is being processed, it might be interesting to haveThe immediate ability to create the new scene. RnrnOnly the battery does not last long .. it's microscopic! In any case they find them at cheap non-original prices and you can also connect the camera to a common powerbank.rnIf you share this with me, you also write to sony maybe they could release an upgrade.
