Pros: Compact and very light, closed at f8 gives good results at all focal lengths, When it turns on it returns to the last focal length set, ultra fast AF.

Cons: Compared to the old type, none, "plastic" attachment, given the weight, I don't think it's a problem.

Opinion: If you are looking for a decent all-rounder in light outings, landscapes and panoramas, mountain villages, in a lens that mounted on an A6xxx series, allows you to carry it in any pocket of a jacket or jacket, and not to miss the shot, at any time, there is only him!. It is useless to complain about the performance that is not at the top, which then, closed from f 6.3 to f 8 is quite good, at all focal lengths. I made a direct comparison with its predecessor, nothing in particular, a series of shots, with the same focal lengths on both: 16mm, 19mm, 24mm, 30mm, 50mm. Aperture f8. Well, it may be the same scheme, the same lenses, but this version n.2, really has something more, just in terms of sharpness, and contrast, moreover, the old model at 50mm dropped enough to try to avoid the focal length, this one, on the other hand, at 50 is sharper, and you can see it by eye, without even going to zoom in too much. Sucks? I don't think so. What do we want in 3cm, with a little more than a hectogram of weight? . However, returning to my impressions, based on comparison tests, this version is better than the previous one, it almost seems that the lenses are more transparent, and, shooting directly in Jpeg, it is cleaner, at the same ISO, perhaps they have improved them a bit?, otherwise it is not explained, why it is sharper, at all focal lengths, compared to the old model, that, apart from that of the tests in question, in many years with Sony, I have had several, but they had never convinced me, only to keep as a "spare tire", while now, in certain contexts, where the quality is not excellent, it is almost funny, it would only lack a little contrast, to be more than discreet.

Pros: Lightness, I use video, photos but only from F8

Cons: Construction, rendering at open apertures, cost

Opinion: What should such a perspective be evaluated for? For microcontrast? Three-dimensionality? No. It serves two purposes: to please those who enter the Sony world with a light lens and zoom. Or to make the body-lens combination light and small. Optically it is not so bad: in video it is excellent (obviously during the day) and for photos if you close the aperture it is more than good. The problem lies in the poor performance at open apertures, and since they are not killer apertures, this in 2024 is decidedly scandalous. The construction is not aligned with Sony standards, the extended barrel dances if you touch it and if you move it back and forth the zoom quickly produces chilling noises. Furthermore, by rotating the ring nut you can NOT have any kind of fluid movement, even if you want to. It goes really jerky. However, if I think about the reason why I bought it, which is to make the ZV-E10 pocket-sized enough to fit in the waist pack or backpack of the mtb, well, it's not that it's perfect, it's that it's the only one that can do it. I take the photos home anyway and the video problems derive more from the crop of the stabilization than from the lens. Ergo all in all he does his job well. The problem if anything is that we are in 2024, and other manufacturers have already shown for years that these lenses can be made, without making them cost a disproportionate, even in a decent way. (see Nikon 16-50). I give an EIGHT vote, because in the end the results are brought home. But it's really narrow, it would be more of a 7.5.
