Pros: Wonderful images

Cons: Poor electronics

Opinion: Given the previous comment, I can only confirm the problems of electronics of the machine, if I do not use it for some time, just turned on, on the display the menu seems crazy, the commands move for their own sake for about ten minutes, the machine, when it was under warranty, was sent to Japan for assistance, But it didn't solve anything. Too bad, I really like to use it in certain contexts but today I would not do this expense again.

Pros: returns beautiful files at 100iso in both B&W and color with a quality comparable to medium format, beautiful lens with low distortion

Cons: I'm not here to list the cons already mentioned by previous reviews, but to express my disappointment on the quality of the electronics of this camera that has malfunctions on the management of the front ring. I am an amateur photographer passionate about photography and I must say that I am very disappointed with this camera for the quality of the electronics as opposed to the excellent physical robustness.

Opinion: The rendering of the files is wonderful. Detail and colors to envy most of the full frame, I say it as an owner of several FF. The optics, equivalent to a 28mm returns wonderful shots both for nature and landscape photography. I also used it for macro as it has a very low focusing distance.

Pros: The only digital way to get the Black & White (with a capital B and N) of the film.

Cons: For my use none

Opinion: I bought this camera, after the experiences I had with the DP1s, DP2 Merril and the SD Quattro, so for me it is the fourth experience with Sigma. Currently I have no other cameras after having made a clean sweep of all my photographic kit last year, I decided to "stop" and take some time to review my concept of photography. So off all the digital, Canon, Pentax, Leica, and printer, and all analog, Contax, Hasselblad, Pentax, Rollei, and full darkroom.... Therefore? I'll start from here. I do not want to add anything to the thousands of words written on this camera, simply recommend it to those who love black & white like me, and want to find the mood of the shots taken with film, but the 20 ISO type ADOX CMS20 ... Because the detail is that, but with the character and charm of a TriX or an HP5, perhaps developed in Rodinal 1:50. I don't like digital prints, even those made on ultra professional printers, and I'm looking for the way to print in B&W on silver salt paper the files of this jewel, if it works I did bingo! So as not to disappoint the reader who ventures into reading reviews, I can say that actually this "compact" almost pocket, is able to return the quality of a medium format, at least in black & white (color does not interest me) all spending 1/10 of the cost of a digital MF. There is nothing better, unless you make a lease and buy the Leica Monochrome, with the Summilux 28mm f: 1,4 ...

Pros: file quality - solidity and attention to detail

Cons: Ergonomics, but you get used - Flare backlit

Opinion: This Sigma is bought for the quality of the file, the detail is incredible, three-dimensional image and microcontrast for less than 1000 euro.rnApparentemente many flaws / limitations, but in reality almost no one, you have to use it using his incredible potential and not trying to that the machine can not dare.rnL'ergonomia could never be better then you get used, even from this point of view, is not made to do 200 shots in a ora.rnLa file quality goes down a little at the edges but nothing to worry , flare in backlit pretty obvious, some color profiles are very true to life, the other a bit 'too saturated for my taste, the white balance looks good to me, shooting in Raw everything is correct on the computer, the dedicated program is a little 'slow, but you can work, in line with the machine .......... .... RNLA ease of use is remarkable, cut to the bone menu, but nevertheless it is morettosto configurabile.rnGhiera of maf deactivated, you avoid moving the maf using the machine in iperfocale, shutter button actually automatic silenzioso.rnISO configurable in the value min. It is max. and the reverse initiation timing to the focal length, that is, 1/30 secondi.rnMeglio not go beyond 800 ISO. Autofocus lento.rnMacchina for users no novice is better as a second body, but not have it is a problema.rnPersonalmente am very satisfied with this machine and hardly will change sensore.rn
