Pros: Sharpness on all focal lengths, versatility, brightness and bokeh, AF speed and natural skin tones

Cons: Just so as not to leave the space empty, the cap doesn't always hook well and it gave me a bit of a nuisance

Opinion: Socket for L-Mount I just did an event with this lens (updated to the latest release of fw 3.4). Given some reviews I was a little worried about the choice made, but I immediately changed my mind. The lens didn't miss a beat. Sharp at all focal lengths, both in the center and at the edges (where obviously it yields a little, but nothing considerable). I still have no idea how it can behave in sporting events, but I will try it in basketball, in the meantime I have tested it on my daughters running and on the swing and it has always followed the subjects precisely. I particularly appreciated the complexion and the detail returned, even the bokeh is very interesting. Combination the videomaker I met had the same lens for more than a year and he was enthusiastic about it too. Neither of the two specimens has particular flexing problems (mine flexes a little, but I have to hold it completely upside down and shake it). As for the weight, it is certainly important, but the only lighter alternative is the sigma 28-105 f2.8, the other competing lenses even of other brands are larger and weigh. I'm glad I made this choice

Pros: Excellent optical quality, excellent sharpness, minimum lens breath and a minimum of character.

Cons: heavy, the lens zooms by itself and outer shell with too much plastic.

Opinion: Bright and versatile, an excellent optic if you find the right copy, unfortunately there are some flaws around. If you find the right copy, it will give you enormous satisfaction. Coupled with a 16 35 2.8 you have everything you need to do all the jobs you want. AF s5ii as if it were a Lumix lens. I find myself working with it and I recommend it to all s5ii/x owners.

Pros: Focal lengths covered and brightness

Cons: Sharpness too low for my expectations

Opinion: Taken for L-Mount as soon as the price became interesting and fell below 1,000 euros (from almost 1,500 who had placed it). I state that he did not leave the house and I have already started the return procedure, so someone will turn up their noses reading this "review", but honestly it did not convince me. At 35mm and full aperture the sharpness in the center is excellent but the edges I would say no, the central focal lengths seem decent, while at 150mm the sharpness at 2.8 is not the best, it has that fogged halo and you have to act on the contrast to give it back some verve. Compared at 150mm f2.8 with the Panasonic 70-200mm f2.8 at the same focal length there is no history, ditto at 35mm f2.8 with the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8, the Sigma strips it off in terms of general sharpness and center-edge uniformity. There is also another aspect that did not drive me crazy, it has a warm yellowish veil, which I don't have in Panasonic and Sigma. Let's say that I could keep it to do more in-depth tests in the field and not on objects, I would have liked to, but the terms for the return expired and in all honesty I didn't feel like keeping a lens that I would have used little, accustomed to the quality standard of the excellent ones I already have. It has focal lengths that would have been very useful to me on various occasions, but it went badly, if an improved II version comes out I will evaluate it in the future. It's definitely a great lens for portraits, from set to close, in that area I think it's perfect, as I imagine for videos, but I don't do those and I haven't tried it at all in that aspect. I conclude by saying that the Samyang, mounted on L-Mount, does not need the base for the update, it is done directly like the others from the camera body and in fact I brought it from 1.0 to 2.1.

Pros: focal range, brightness, fast and accurate AF, sharp but.... nothing to do with the tamron of the same focal length

Cons: Considering the price and performance I would say nothing

Opinion: I found used and tried today for the first time and I must say that the lens works really well with the Sony A7 lll, the weight is felt, but considering the various focal lengths it is well tolerated. Good for me, but not great even at full opening. Good for portrait and various services. a good blur, a slight vignetting, but nothing transcendental, already updated to version 2.0. Vote 7

Pros: A Real Killer, What Do You Think He Performs

Cons: When you rest, with the car upside down, he gets out. It's nothing dramatic, but it's a nuisance! Maybe you were photographing at 35mm, you bring the camera to your eye and you're at 100/150mm, you have to zoom back to where you were, it's a moment but it catches you off guard a bit at the beginning.

Opinion: I was curious, I also wanted to give this lens a chance, but I followed to the letter the advice of Ulysseita (Juza user) on the tripod procedure on lens centering. Magically, even if a slutty Samyang... the 4 corners look like photocopies and perfect too!! Delighted!! In addition, firmware already updated to 2.0 so for now no extra expense for Lens Station. The firmware 2.0 should bring the performance closer to those wonderful zooms that Tamron is building. As for sharpness they say that its rival Tamron is better, but I don't see a big problem, if I do portraits a little soft is there ! the colors instead seem to me inverted, years ago I had Samyang 1.4 that were very warm, this one seems colder than the Tamron. The weight 1.3kg is all there even if I'm used to it, having 5 lenses in 1 so "fast" is a fantastic thing! I had never experienced anything like it. I like it very much. It agitates me though, because I can do everything, I always have it in my hand, it bends my wrists. I shoot almost all the time, with the Sony200/600 (this one is sharp) since it came out it's been 5 years now, so the arm is trained, absurdly I find it lighter, it's probably a more restful photographic style. Ollo Store, they deserve 5 stars, if it's not aligned you can send it back, at no cost !! 5 years FOWA warranty what more do you want.. It costs less, for me I did 13!!
