Pros: Sharpness, 3D pop, Leica colours, incredible build quality

Cons: cases of ghosting in backlight , f2.8 up to 20 mm would have been nice

Opinion: The moment you hold the Panaleica 12-60 in your hands, you know that you are in presence of a fantastic piece of engineering , solid, smooth metal . Sizewise the lens is perfect for an Em1, and even pretty good on my old Em5 . Fine AF, nice colours, nice 3dD pop , lens stabilization ( to be preferred over the ibis with Olympus bodies ) . Already incredibly sharp at 12 mm, even better than my 12 mm f2 Olympus prime. Excellent until 50 mm . A bit weaker sharpness- and contrast-wise at 60 mm f4 , but that's very good for portraits with a nice background blur; for lanscapes and street better use f5.6 and add a touch of contrats in post .

Pros: All

Cons: Distortion at 12 mm up to 18 mm

Opinion: You will hardly get tired of such a view, it does almost everything and does it well, that almost is "architecture". Don't even try, you'd be disappointed, having said that it has a mild contrast, it's very resolving, the diaphragm is a work of art, how many have nine blades? Few. Well balanced colors and very pleasant complexion. He's going to be with me for quite a while...

Pros: Colors, three-dimensionality, construction, focal range, brightness, sharpness, tropicalization, lens hood, price if taken in kit, leica, power ois scary in combination with panasonic g9

Cons: Price if bought separately

Opinion: In my opinion, considering it a kit lens is an insult, usually kit lenses are medium-low level lenses while this one for me is medium-high level. The photos are alive, beautiful colors and enchanting three-dimensionality, not for nothing is leica. Small size, tropicalized body and stabilization complete the picture. Very satisfied 10 out of 10

Pros: Construction and optical rendering

Cons: Don't have it

Opinion: It is a lens that is difficult to take off the camera. In some reviews here they complain about optical defects that I have not found. Someone complains that it suddenly drops in brightness with increasing focal length and criticizes at the same time the weight and size: evidently can not imagine how it could be and how much a constant 12-60 f2.8 should cost. Personally I would have preferred a constant f/4. Someone mentioned among the defects the made in China ... Is it a defect? Why should it be, since it has excellent mechanics? Except for specific needs, it could be the only objective of the kit.

Pros: Excellent construction, compactness, fluidity of the rings, additional keys to improve lens control, fast AF, good macro capabilities, optical defects almost always very well corrected

Cons: Distortion quite evident in raw at 12mm, a bit of vignetting more evident in raw at 12mm, maximum brightness that decreases quickly (the maximum aperture is f/3.5 at 25mm, and f/3.9 at 40mm)

Opinion: I've owned it for two years, for me it's a great travel lens. The metal construction is great, with fluid rings and additional keys such as the AF/MF switch and stabilizer button. The AF is fast, and the macro capabilities are good despite not being a dedicated lens. The compactness of the lens is great for travel, but it is compensated by the fact that the maximum brightness decreases quickly (the maximum aperture is f/3.5 at 25mm, and f/3.9 at 40mm). The optical defects almost always very well corrected, apart from the fairly obvious distortion in raw at 12mm and a bit of vignetting more evident in RAW at 12mm. Recommended lens for M4/3 users.
