Pros: Pocket and underwater, F / 2 on wide angle, snaps into raw, good macro function.

Cons: Raw is not developed with Lightroom, it has no priority mode of time, it can not always be cropped, only 3 diaphragms available in priority mode A

Opinion: Taken from laziness by reflexes (I do not always want to take me behind the car body with 1 or 2 targets) and being fond of underwater photos (just apnea and snorkeling and without the urge / finances to create a photo kit specifically for this type of photography) I decided to buy this small compact to always carry with me.rnI still did not have the chance to try it underwater but I was still pleasantly impressed with the quality of the files (both raw and jpg). As I wrote in pro / contro the biggest advantage is the poor size of the camera (it's quietly in the pocket of a jacket or in the back pants of the trousers) while the main shortcoming is, in my opinion, the impossibility of using Lightroom for pp of raw files .org) (the program provided by Oly - Olympus File Viewer 3 - I'm not satisfied with it, but files can still be edited with opensource programs like FastStone ImageViewer). UPDATE: The new lightroom also read the .orf files ... eliminating in my opinion the defaultof this camera

Pros: Ease of use, small size, ergonomics, raw files, jpeg good in reference to the small sensor, real macro, f2, good speed and precision AF. Fixed programs but effective underwater photos.

Cons: Ability to control the settings and to a limited extent only for Program A (Aperture priority); otherwise automatic stranded managed by the machine absolutely. Sensor smaller, cheaper model comes in 21 mm.

Opinion: I was looking for a compact digital camera to make the first experience of underwater photography unwilling to buy bulky spacesuits for 7 D m II or the G1 X m II. I enjoyed it very much, I have troubled a bit 'to find the right settings being short-sighted; I felt limited by settings blocked, I still took forever in raw + jpeg and therefore obliged to use the single shot. The Olympus program to manage raw I seemed complex, but I solved by converting the files with the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw and DNG and and Photoshop. In any case the jpeg results are of good quality and can also be used for prints. Probably there are some interesting ways but I have not got to use.

Pros: Tascabilità, f / 2 aperture, underwater, RAW file format, image quality generally good. GPS, Wi-Fi. Macro very good. Aperture priority.

Cons: Inability to shoot RAW + JPG with filters available, shoot in RAW only with some presets. Inability to manage settings manually with some of the activated filters. All limits of a compatta.Camera RAW CS5 and Capture One 8 can not read RAW this machine so I had to download a software of Olympus that compared to those who normally use is very limited and basic. It does not keep the f / 2 aperture throughout the zoom range, but only on the most wide-angle (25mm equivalent). Inability of management totally manual (only the aperture priority and also allows you to choose only between 3 opening for example: between f / 2, f / 2.8 and f / 8 when you are with the wide-angle).

Opinion: I purchased this compact to take pictures underwater summer during the holidays. But then I realized it could be used for many other things, such as the MACRO works really well with the focus to 1cm. Its portability allows you to do many things with a camera would be impossible or at least very uncomfortable. It 'a machine very fun and intuitive. With one hand, you can shoot and access to all the menus. Sealing is also excellent in the sea. Council rinse with fresh water after use at sea. The picture quality is pretty good. Also good autofocus. RAW files are certainly not those of the D800 but still allow some management. As show we can also gain a stop in post, more than one stop the image begins to fray. Unfortunately Raw are not readable by my professional software and can open them only with Olympus Viewer 3 which is very limited and basic. The shutter speeds to arrive at most 4secondi and the time più fast as possible is 1/2000. Shutter speed of 1/2000 to me it seems too little, it would be much better if it came at least in 1/4000 because when shooting at f / 2 ISO 100 in broad daylight 1/2000 is a time too slow and was forced to close the diaphragm. Unfortunately it is totally manageable in manual but you can only use the aperture priority, and you can only choose between three diaphragms (fully open, intermediate and closed). The optical system is 25 to 100mm equivalent, is good in all lengths, but I think that gives her better all-wide-angle (25mm). However I am very happy with our purchase and is a car that always carry with me on all occasions. Using the TG-4 you realize what a full-frame SLR is heavy and bulky and make it practically impossible to take a later image.
