Pros: Toughness, versatility, image quality for the year it was released, detailed gps, speed and convenience in use
Cons: autonomy a little poor, different noise already at 1600 iso, a little dark starts from 3.9, unreliable waterproofness on some models, price to the new, has no psam
Opinion: I have been owning this car since summer 2012 as I wanted to have a camera always with me not to use that of the mobile phone, but without having the fear that it could fall, take water or that it was in contact with sand, wind dust etc... when I saw that Nikon had launched a new line of sturdy waterproof compacts and that I didn't even have to worry about the bumps then I took it. His job does it. Take a point and shoot, quick and fast. It's the classic from the tip and snaps without thinking much. In the end it was born for this, keep memories and commemorate moments difficult to get with a challenging machine like a reflex because impossible to carry anywhere. Taken to the sea, to the pool, to the beach with 35grades or even to the mountains at -10 -12, the car has always done its duty, it has never failed. Of course the image quality is not that of the reflex and now in 2020 it is dated, but when you call it into question, it is ready. The gps works well, automatically locates the location for each photo made, if it is activated the works. The path is a bit vague, in the sense it is not overdetailed and the road traveled by the gps is approximate, in short it is not to be relied on if you get lost to find the house :) A sore note is the battery. Being small as a machine, although sturdy, they could not make a very capacitive battery and returns about 250 photos, a little few if you are out for a half day especially in an exclusive place where difficult is to come back and difficult to carry with you a reflex. For the rest I gave 8 grade because it's the kind of compact that you put in your pocket and you forget you have it because you don't care that much. I didn't even put display protection on her because that would be counterintuitive. To have such a sturdy machine was born precisely to always be in the hands of the photographer and that you pull out regardless of the weather that is outside, have a display protection... seems useless. A brighter otiect, a more effective noise reduction and a more capacitive battery would have made a machine almost perfect... but that would have been a high price... and at about 250 dollars we say it was at the limit. |
