Pros: Color rendering, sharpness, construction

Cons: None, maybe the weight

Opinion: I had it and used it with the fuji s5 pro and the nikon d600, I took still life photos, fashion and portrait, real macro little. The color rendering is beautiful as well as the blurred at a portrait distance, the af is not fast but remember that it is a macro lens, the only truly macro zoom. One of the goals I regret selling.

Pros: zoom range, color rendering, macro function, mechanical

Cons: dim

Opinion: only lens of its kind. only real macro zoom manufactured by Nikon. Made of warm colors and pasty typical of af-d.rnPaga models somewhat low maximum aperture but amply rewarded by the performance very much bella.rnSiamo agree on non suddenness autofocus (during the production of this lens the afs were only a dream) but for human subjects is more than enough, for macro small animal better go on maf manual that is practical and precise. impeccable construction and the feeling, which corresponds to reality, great solidità.rnla macro function is really good, even at 180mm you can focuse just over 30cm, ok is not 1: 1 ... rnTorno telling myself on rendition color and softness that modern struggle aims to have, maybe they have other characteristics (afs, dwarves, vr); depends on use and tastes, I also had the 70-200 f / 4 vr and how performance has disappointed me so much that I sold, after one month and after deferring in nital perchè thought I had problems ... that aveva.rn

Pros: sharpness, zoom

Cons: Af slow, the support foot

Opinion: I have this view since 1998, purchased new gave me and is giving me a lot of satisfaction, the feeling is of extreme strength, applied D800 I also made videos with butterflies in my opinion the Nikon should make a version with stabilizer and AFS, the optical construction can remain as it was, the zoom is very comfortable, the only flaw is the support foot too small and too slow AF.

Pros: Sharpness, Construction, Zoom

Cons: Brightness, Attack Tripod, Price, Hood, slow AF, RR 1: 1.3

Opinion: A lens without a doubt well-made, built to last. Optically very good, the ability to zoom makes it much easier shots. Although the zoom is still very specialized given the low light, I think it can not replace the 70-200 f4. In this regard, with the extension tubes or a CT (or all and 2) sull'f4 you reach a RR very similar while keeping the quality, you have the VR, a clearly better AF, it has a lens with a new design and costs as well less. In my opinion this Micro Nikkor has no reason to be purchased, except for collectors.

Pros: flexibility of use: the only zoom that is really a macro (and vice versa ...)

Cons: working distance (in the sense that the maximum focal length you'd expect more space between lens and subject); difficulty finding specimens used

Opinion: I do not gamble too much in analysis techniques: the first feeling you get from using it is comfort (in certain situations you can zoom in to define the frame is priceless ...) without apparent compromise on quality, on DX can easily withstand the fact that reaches the 1: 1 (stops 1:1,32), the feeling is of extreme solidity, even if the specimen is not my youngest the zoom ring is sometimes not perfectly smooth; foot ring for tripod is a bit 'and requires little or a generous and well-plate loader (type Manfrotto hexagonal) or a plate type ark with margin against rotation; rnComplessivamente are very happy to have found a used one and I wonder how it is possible that such a project is not taken into consideration for a new edition in the light of technological advances ... though who knows how much it might cost ...
