Freehand use is manageable, not for long periods of course. Combined with the Z9 the detail that is returned by the images is excellent, especially up to medium distances. On the long it loses a hair. The AF is fast both smooth and paired with CT (TC 1.7II in my case). With CT the images are a little softer. The blurry is gorgeous. Unfortunately the 400 Z is out of all budget otherwise I would have taken that.
