Pros: metal bayonet, construction, high-end USM AF RING precise and fast, color rendering, adjustable focus ring even with AF inserted, distance scale

Cons: dimly lit, lack of VR, zoom ring sometimes 'jerky'

Opinion: Excellent wide-angle side lens and good for portrait, certainly better than all 18-55, with in addition a stop gained at 50 mm.... more realistic colors and better blurred, to be used but 'with little pixelated bodies penalty poor resolution and sharpness, I use it on D70 and D300 to be clear. On 24 mpx bodies it is better to use next-generation lenses such as 18-55 VR II or 18-105 VR that are designed specifically for those sensors. The lack of stabilization is felt (problem that is attenuated on quality bodies type d300) and in events with low light suffers from brightness but for the price at which it is located it is still an excellent lens. Vote 8

Pros: Cheap, lightweight and fair value for money.

Cons: In relation to its constructive economy, objectively I do not find any cons.

Opinion: I purchased this lens purely for use on a modified D70 IR 720nm. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality that can be achieved with what, years ago was the economical kit lens of this machine. No hot spots at any focal length, not even f/16. For those who want to approach this fantastic photographic genre, I think there is nothing else so cheap and at the same time so discreet. Vote 9.

Pros: Robust, precise, economical.

Cons: Maybe the brightness.

Opinion: Lens that is used at very low prices and, combined with old but super cameras, such as the D 300, the D 300 S or the D 200 can offer performance to say the least excellent. It is not bright, but it is normal and it is better to always have it at hand. Surely you will not regret the purchase. I have two, precisely with D 300 S and D 200, which, apart from the limited sensitivity is a super excellent camera.

Pros: Best of 18-55 AF-S

Cons: Worst of 18-105 AF-S

Opinion: I wrote this in the pros and cons because that's exactly where this lens is. It's done well, sturdy, big and heavy enough, it mounts 67mm filters, that is, you do a bit of everything. It's better than the 18-55 kit in all respects but the 18-105 VR AF-S surpasses it. It is often found used to a ridiculous figure and this makes it very desirable. If you have an old DX (all before 2015) it's definitely always fine. It doesn't excel at anything but as a standard it does a great job. Today's price rating: 8

Pros: Construction, compact size, good focal length

Cons: VR Absence, Only for DX

Opinion: I recently got hold of this lens, a little by accident and I took the opportunity to replace a 18-55 that I have practically never used (perhaps for the focal length for me very limited). Leaving Dicenco I was satisfied with the construction, metal attachment, right weight, nice bezel. My specimen is in really perfect condition and seems to be working properly, the AF is pleasantly reactive, I tried quelch photo both in outdoor and in closed places, but Counque bright. I'D say he's behaving well!!! It seemed to Me that the best results are obtained starting from F6, which is the conseghuenza that in situations not bright you have to help from the ISO and then you go to compromise... To date There are specimens from 70/80 € and personally it seems a great purchase if found under €100. A natural comparison is born (as already written..) with the 18-55, between the two the 18-70 comes out with a little head high on all fronts, greater focal length, aperture opening, construction, ridiculously AF. Recommend in relation to the price
