Pros: Solid, fast and precise.

Cons: Weight and overall dimensions, if relevant for the specific application.

Opinion: I bought this used head years ago, as a replacement for the 804RC2 that was combined with my 055XPROB that I use for still life. Compared to the three-way one, it has only advantages: by unlocking the clutch you can move the machine in all directions, finding the ideal position in no time. Once the lever is released, the head locks exactly where you want it, without settling, jerking or other small shifts. The disadvantage compared to other heads is the size and weight, despite the magnesium body, but using it on a heavy tripod, for me it is irrelevant. I recommend disassembling the hook for the base and placing it on the opposite side, so that you can control the clutch with your left hand, while your right hand remains on the machine body. I recently opened and overhauled it by ordering a new lever from Manfrotto, because on the old one both teeth (plastic) had broken which prevented it from coming out of the magnesium body. Now it works even better than when I bought it.

Pros: Very solid chance to attack the plate in three different positions, for left and on the tip of the handle

Cons: it is a bit difficult to find the perfect composition because in my original motion is not perfectly fulido "takes a little bit"

Opinion: it took me a while to get used to it, was given to me 4 years ago and is the only ball head I've ever used, the winning combination that I have found is to attach the plate vertically relative to the clutch, so I solved many problems, although in combination with tele (light type 70 200 f4) is likely to unbalance the weight forward if you do not use a tripod attack with the objective, however with a little practice it is very versatile and useful, definitely recommended !
