Pros: Backpack really capacent and modulatable. Very robust materials. Comfortable and Little fatiguing (like posture, not as weight...) even at full load. Opening of the back side (when hiking and excursions).
Cons: Opening side backrest (when doing weddings and events). A single large pocket in the main compartment. Mine arrived without internal straps (Amazon recognized me a discount for this). The backpack is really very bulky, especially in depth: in the mountains no problem, but at events and weddings if you are not careful to move... they are beating to the right and missing!
Opinion: A really very capacent backpack, I in the main compartment I keep 5d III and 6d both with BG Mounted. On the 5d, putting in the upper part, I always leave mounted an average bulky lens (usually Tamron 24-70 2.8), then with the dividers, I created spaces to hold the 6d without lens, 17-40, 50 Art, Canon 85 1.8, Canon 35 IS, Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC, 1 or 2 flashes , 4 batteries LP-E6 extra, 8 extra batteries, yongnuo trigger, blower, 1 x 8SD Rigid enclosure and 1 x 6cf. In the front compartment, definitely well divided and with a hook for the keys, I put wallets, notebook and pens, car keys, powerbank, phone, glasses etc etc... But I also happened to put the MacBook Pro Retina 13 or an iPad. In the 2 side pockets I keep the double shoulder strap the barbershop in one and the other a 1/2 liter bottle of water... I also sporadically used the hook for the tripod and I have to say it does its job, as well as the rain Cover. If worn on both shoulders, even at full load, the padding is very comfortable and does not create problems even with the shoulder straps (the ventral strap is used only in case of excursions, while for the matrimonial services, for convenience, I leave it unhooked, even If in fact it helps a lot to unload the weight on the pelvis instead of keeping everything on the shoulders). The materials are objectively very robust, as well as the Seams. I do not treat it with gloves, but at a distance of 3 years has no obvious signs of wear. Unfortunately my backpack arrived without the inner straps, which is why Amazon recognized me a discount coupon on the purchase price, but I stole those in the Amazon Basic backpack and they're Fine. The fact that it accesses the main compartment from the backrest, it's a double-edged sword... in the sense that depending on the use that makes it can be a huge comfort (eg. during the excursions, with the waist belt well laced and pulled, simply remove the shoulder straps , bring the backpack in front and open the hinges to access all your equipment, without having to rest on the ground), as well as a potential problem (doing weddings or events, The backpack is often open but resting on the front, where as already said, I keep personal effects or even the laptop, so all the weight of the photographic equipment presses on these objects and it is not said that does not create some damage). A negative note certainly goes to the only pocket in the main compartment: confusing and decidedly undertone as a material, although I must admit that it is resisting well to wear. I would have clearly preferred at least 2 large pockets, maybe transparent, like those present in the backpacks of the tamrac, so as to be able to better divide their accessories and find them on the fly without having to search blindly as in the pocket in my backpack ! The capacity however, on the other hand, has a price: this backpack is really bulky, especially in depth! As long as you go hiking there is no problem, but when you are among people, at events or weddings, you often happen to go to bump someone or something... In hindsight, I would probably orient myself more on a Tamrac expedition 6 or 7 or equivalent: mind you, This lowepro is an excellent backpack, for hiking I think it can be really the top in this price range, but for a purely "mundane" use, the dimensions Make it (and the thing affects the wearer) rather clumsy and ungainly. |
