Pros: Speed; Price, considering size and specification

Cons: Potential obsolesence - Fewer cameras now use Compact Flash

Opinion: For my ageing Nikon D700 - 64gb is largest card this camera can use - I couldn't resist an Amazon "Black Friday" offer for their normally priced 79 pounds sterling, which is cheaper than anywhere else, down to an even cheaper 57 pounds. Only had a couple of hours window to buy, so I did! In use, it takes in 6 - 8 frame bursts on 'high' in RAW without slowing and even my Transcend card reader shows on the PC, 'Lexar'. Download very fast, as you would expect. As long as reliability is maintained, then my perfect score is safe. Unfortunately, CF cards seem to becoming obsolete, my potential replacement for the D700, could either be a D750 or D810. Only the D810 and D4 currently use CF's, which is a pity, as I always prefer their solid, chunky size (you can pick one up with gloves, you cannot do this with a SDXC!) I can still use my very first CF cards (6 years old) - I doubt if I could say the same in 6 years times with flimsy SD's. I would have been quite happy with the slower 800x version of this card but the Amazon offer brought this faster one down to a similar price and only a fool wouldn't have snapped up such an offer.
