Pros: A camera

Cons: Cost of accessories such as batteries, battery chargers, BG... madness in the sense that 300€ for a two-seater battery charger is.... it is.... madness. Useless if not used with Leica lenses.

Opinion: I bought it about 6 months ago so I think I can offer a real review. The sl3 is certainly well built and well "thought out" for those who like to take photographs using the functions of a normal camera!! A few keys without acronyms, names... and all customizable. Functions limited to what is really needed. Initially tried with sigma lenses everything was fine but when, pushed by I don't know what, I decided to take the 24/90 and the 90/280 everything changed. Let's be clear: if you shoot and publish you can also use lenses taken from landfills but if you print, the SL3 with Leica lenses and maybe APO ... There is little to say, an extra gear compared to other combinations we have had and tried in the past. R5, Z8 etc. Logical that if someone says it is expensive you certainly cannot dispute it but the "expensive" turns into "very expensive" if you want to get excellent results since in my opinion it must be combined with Leica glass. I leave the 60, 36 and 18 sensor punches to the data maniacs as well as high iso etc. The SL3 makes great files. And woe betide you if you pass them on the right or others because everything is destroyed!! With the SL3 I returned the enthusiasm for photography and some characteristics of the autofocus certainly not the best or the BG without a button to exclude it... but who cares!!! Ah, here's a flaw: it consumes energy like an airliner, so apart from the cost, you have to have several batteries with you. After a year: Firmware 4.0 finally!! With the new firmware the autofocus has taken a big step forward, for everything else I confirm everything I wrote above. Fantastic camera in all respects, there is little to do. I have used it with Leica and Sigma lenses including the recent 200 f2. I reconfirm the concept that if you want excellent results you have to use Leica lenses. Not all, of course, the 100/400... The 70/200... the old lenses like the 90/280 and in terms of quality (for my taste) there are no comparisons. The laboratory where I print, Fusina, without me saying anything, immediately asked me what had changed in the files I sent because there was a significant leap in quality. I came from the Z8 and S1, not from the iphone!! On the question of variable sensor 18/36/60 mega it is not true that the difference is not significant so above I wrote a caxata!! As for the dynamic range that increases slightly as the pixels decrease, there is a difference but you only notice it in the laboratory if you print and in any case you struggle. It changes the yield for the isos for the better, i.e. the fewer the pixels and the better it treats the isos, which increases the quality in print. I post-produce with capture one and an eizo cg2700x and on the screen you notice the difference. But I repeat, these are all things that make sense if you print otherwise...

Pros: Ergonomics, viewfinder, menu, display, dials and buttons, battery

Cons: Being a Leica, but you already know before buying, the price

Opinion: The Leica SL3 represents a significant step forward from the already excellent SL2. As a former owner of the SL2, I can say that the SL3 exceeded my expectations in many respects. Design and Ergonomics: The SL3 has a slightly more compact design and a lower weight than the SL2, making it more manageable and comfortable to use for long photo sessions. This improvement in shape and weight makes daily use much easier. Viewfinder and Controls: The SL3's electronic viewfinder is large and super readable, giving you a clear and detailed view. The buttons and dials are perfectly placed and have optimal pressure, making interaction with the camera intuitive and enjoyable. User Interface: The user interface of the SL3 is basic but perfect. The options available are few but well-organized, making it easy to find what you need without distractions. This minimalist approach allows you to focus on photography. Autofocus Performance: The SL3's autofocus is excellent in almost any situation, ensuring accuracy and speed. However, tracking fast-moving subjects could be improved, making the camera less suitable for dynamic photography. Image Quality: The SL3 offers three resolution options in RAW format, allowing you to choose the best one according to your needs. At lower resolutions, noise is reduced and dynamic range is improved, ensuring high-quality images even in low light conditions. The 60-megapixel sensor is put to good use, producing results that often blow your mind. Stabilization and Battery: The SL3's built-in stabilization effectively reduces vibration, allowing you to get sharp images even when handheld. Another highlight is the battery, which can be changed without opening any doors, making the process quick and convenient. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Leica SL3 is an outstanding camera that offers significant improvements over the SL2. With its ergonomic design, high-quality viewfinder, intuitive user interface, and excellent performance, it is an ideal choice for professional and enthusiast photographers alike. It's a machine that always invites you to get out and shoot, making every photographic experience a real pleasure.

Pros: See Review

Cons: See Review

Opinion: I realize (and this is a criticism that I make first of all to myself) that when you review a camera the focus is all on the device, on the container. By doing so, by meticulously analyzing every single detail of the machine (sensor, dials and buttons, various performances), you lose sight of the content... The picture that camera takes, the file I get by shooting. Here, to review the SL3 it would be enough to stop at the file: a DNG rich in information, beautiful and full-bodied at 360 degrees, a unique file (!!) And if that's what really matters, it goes without saying that the machine can only be TOP. Let's leave numbers and numbers alone: the SL3 is a great product; it is the careful evolution of the two previous models in a path of continuous evolution and search for perfection (I shot for a long time with both the very first SL and the SL2). You pick up the SL3 and say, "oh my gosh, when are we going to start"?!?

Pros: Body, Full Frame sensor with triple resolution Maestro 4, high-resolution tilting display, excellent three-phase autofocus, new power button with Stand by function

Cons: For now, nothing.

Opinion: This is my third SL, I didn't have any difficulty using the menu being the same as the previous ones, but improved in the icons which turn depending on how we hold the camera, the icons change color when you go to video. For my reportages I use both the SL3 and the Q3, I seem to use the same car, same buttons, same menu, same battery, excellent ergonomics, Sunday I walked around Mantua with SL3 and 24/90 holding it in my hand, I didn't get tired at all, with the Stand By function inserted, you don't turn off the camera anymore, touching any button it comes back ready very quickly. Finally, I can customize all the function keys to my liking.

Pros: Body,Third Ring,Speed in switching from Standby to Operational,File quality, high-performance af, app. Leica Photos

Cons: Tendency to have hot pixels in long exposures.

Opinion: Taken a couple of days ago to replace the SL2 I immediately felt very good. The menu is virtually identical to the SL2, so there are no substantial differences. The speed that goes from standby to operational mode is interesting. Compared to the SL2 there is a third totally customizable ring that I use in iso mode that I find very, very practical and efficient. The Af has improved a lot since the first tests and the quality of the file is excellent. The body is slightly smaller and lighter than the SL2. The battery of the SL2 and the original wired remote control of the SL2 are compatible, although the battery is slightly less efficient than the new version. Tilting monitor that is a godsend for those who do landscapes. The Leica app works much better on the SL3, I think the wifi has been much improved. I reserve the right to test the camera at high iso in the next few days... The sensor should be checked on long exposures because it has a tendency to produce Hotpixels even using noise reduction... (we're talking about 3 min and up..) At the moment I have to say that it was a very good improvement over the SL2.
