Pros: High level rendering, impeccable construction

Cons: Weight, price

Opinion: I was able to test this "monster" in a fairly thorough way and decided to write a small review. First of all, I thank my dear friend Hadrian, owner of this extraordinary lens, for giving me the possibility to mount it on my SL. Let's start by talking about the construction: impeccable! Like all the optics in the house. To the touch it transmits a feeling of solidity, thanks also to the generous weight (if I am not mistaken should exceed a little Kg), but once mounted on the SL, the camera/lens system is well balanced and you can work well, the ring nuts flow in your hand to wonder and The focus, using the viewfinder of the SL, is very accurate. We come now to the yield: incredible sharpness from the maximum aperture, excellent contrast, gorgeous colors and excellent backlight hold. The plasticity is finally typical of the best lenses of the Leica production. This lens is a real masterpiece. The price is very high and I will not make assessments on how much is really proportionate to the performance, I prefer instead to spend two words on the comparison with the Summilux of focal pare that I own. I start by saying that the two lenses produce images with a very but very similar global footprint. The 75Lux, at maximum aperture, does not have the sharpness of the Noctilux, the photos are a little less contrasted with more "pastel" colors and the tightness to the backlight, while being good, is not comparable to that of the more modern lens. The old glass on the other hand, with its "imperfections", produces more pictorial images endowed with a plasticity even higher than the already elevated one of the new and more "perfect" noctilux.
