Pros: Too much to list. My lens is 38 years old and it performs very well.

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: Today, I have had my first day with the lens mounted on a Sony A7II. I have bought it used on ebay. Serial starts with 33 and it was build in 1984. It's a lens that I would recommend to a friend. German Leica dealers ask for this lens 900 EUR, but you can get one for the half of that. When you get one for 400 EUR, there is a good value. Shooting with the lens is easy and much fun. When you have edit the raw files with a quality software, you are surprised how well this lens performs. It's razor sharp and easy to focus.

Pros: Solid construction(like all Leitz Wetzlar optics), colors, bokeh

Cons: Maybe the weight, but the robustness you pay

Opinion: The Elmarit-R 90mm f2.8, designed by Walter Mandler (version 1 and 2), has been a cornerstone in Leitz production for more than sixty years and this says a lot about its peculiarities. Each version has been designed to be state-of-the-art for its time and therefore the quality of the images is very high even by current standards, as long as you know how to make the best use of your personality. A TA is definitely not the sharpest lens on the market, but the poetry he produces with his images, especially in portraiture, has no equal, at least for me. Surely its robustness is reflected in the weight, not indifferent, but the results it produces fully pay off. One of the best medium canvases, which must not be missing in the kit of a portraitist. I use it with full satisfaction on X-T2 and X-E3 and the photos I get only really "magical".

Pros: very good. Well done. Robustness and precision in the Leica style. Crisp and full and real colors

Cons: Maybe a little heavy, but you work well

Opinion: I was looking for the 90 summicron F2 M series. I did great. I use it mainly on Sony 7R, but also on Panasonic GX9. A historical lens of 1964 that with the fender incorporated in a small glass to understand us first series made in Germany. Crisp to all diaphragms, typical Leica colors. Blurry maybe not like the summicron, but still very pleasant. The weight is felt, but very manageable. Also because you have to add the weight of the adapter. It's an extraordinary lens

Pros: Extraordinary, impeccable construction, sharpness and blurred

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I took this medium tele to use on Sony A7 thanks to the ease of focusing with the manual optics.rnBefore deciding I compared it with the Summicron R 90 f 2 and I preferred this.rnMy specimen belongs to the first series. rnWhich say, excellent sharpness already at full aperture, if you close the diaphragm arrives at perfect levels; beautiful and gradual detachment of the floors that does not create the effect of "figurine outline", blurred not too creamy, slightly nervous and absolutely perfect in Leica style. The Summicron I found it more creamy and soft.rnAlso on digital it gives a slightly analogue effect to the file, certainly optics with character, far from the modern optics too perfect and anonymous.rnParaluce incorporated, the optics in hand gives a feeling of absolute robustness and solidity.rnSide fluids and perfect focus (thanks also to the peak of the sony) .rnIf you're fond of portrait, narrow or set, you would not cut it off more from the machine.rnA must-have to have

Pros: Colors, tonal passages, blurry, building

Cons: None (manual fire, but you know about the purchase)

Opinion: In my opinion one of the best average vintage portrait canvas and not. The construction is solid and very precise, in Leica style. The fluid and pleasant nuts to use. In terms of yield we are on stratospheric levels: the colors are natural and with a slight contrast, which allows you to have perfect images for easy portraits and workable in post. Tonal passages are something unique, that few targets can give. The sharpness at TA is not at the highest level, it's fine for portraits, while in other areas it is advisable to close at 1 stop. The blur is beautiful, pasty at the right point and able to detach itself decisively and of course the subject, very different from the modern blurry of almost uniform colors. Rn I also tried the brother f2 and, apart from the cost about double, did not convince me of the same Way on blurry. Ultimately, an optic that gives dependence on portrait and if closed a bit great for both details and landscapes. With the plus of being able to find it fairly little on the used (check that the rings are fluid and there are no important buckles) Rating 10
