Pros: Very sharp lens already at TA, compactness in relation to the format, good fluidity of manual focusing

Cons: Important cost, at TA purple and green fringes in ugly high contrast conditions.

Opinion: What about this lens, it is a good all-rounder lens for X1 / 2D seire, the sharpness in the center is embarrassing already at TA, it offers many possibilities of use being a 35mm equivalent on FF, good but not fantastic the blurred at 3.5, the progression of the out of focus is appreciable but of course, it is not an optics devoted to portrait even if it can be effective in portraiture set in ambient light. Painful notes? Of course! the TA lens shows, in situations of other contrast on surfaces but also on backlit hair, purple and green fringes, these can be corrected in post production, but for a 2800 euro lens I would have expected much more honestly. In conclusion, if you are looking for a handyman lens equivalent to a 35mm on FF, opt for the younger brother, the 45 F4 P, is lighter, slightly sharper than this and more optically correct at less than half of this 45 3.5, the 0.5 aperture makes absolutely no difference in terms of blurred, you will not even notice! save 1400 euros and you will have a better lens, this in relation to its performance, has a cost too high and is older than the 45 F4 P.

Pros: MAF of a crazy precision, lightness, solidity, yield sharpness and magnificent colors

Cons: No one, not even the potential flaws

Opinion: I made my first photo weekend with only the X1D and this 45 mm (35 equivalent on FF) is literally scary. In fact to be really embarrassing in every respect is all the system X1D/XCD, but if the sensor is imprinted such a detail is also due to this jewel of the house Hasselblad. This past weekend in Genoa I started to enjoy the transition to this system. Coming from Reflex World, 1DS3 + 50l used for 90% of my shots, I do not get how different and for me much more pleasant this breakthrough. The immense pleasure of focusing in manual, mainly using the focus peaking, becomes goduria when the ring moves; A kind of resistance, vibration, help, makes everything hyper delicate but at the same time imposes an imperceptible resistance that seems to help the focus almost as if it were "assisted". The minimum distance is 40 cm, so it makes it possible to invent shots without any compromise. I ordered the 30mm, after this past weekend to know the system and seeing what can capture a similar small hole (yes, small hole, the front lens is 2.5 cm in diameter) with reverse curvature, I think I have found my perfect system for 90% of my Need. An exciting trinket.
