Pros: Operating speed, autofocus, customization of function keys, image quality, battery life

Cons: No dials, non-clickable control wheels, large dimensions... And I personally can't stomach the V-logger screen

Opinion: I thought a lot before proceeding with the purchase of this camera: I was attracted by the stacked sensor and the consequent operating speed, but very doubtful for the size and for the fully adjustable display suitable more for videomakers than for photographers. In the end, having come across an excellent offer for a "zero km" used car, I gave in and bought it. At first contact the feeling is that we are dealing with a real flagship, with excellent build quality and "larger" dimensions compared to the Fuji of the x-t series to which I am more accustomed. As for usability, as I already imagined, I personally suffer from the type of display, the absence of dials like those of the x-t series and also the size, with function keys more difficult to reach for those who do not have too large hands. On the other hand, the generous dimensions result in greater ergonomics and a sturdy feel. The operating speed is remarkable and pushing to the maximum with the FPS it is easy to download many shots (and giga!) on the CF express. A firepower that you have to learn to manage, to avoid being overwhelmed by hundreds of redundant photos. On the other hand, I don't agree with many of the criticisms found on the net with respect to the autofocus: the latest firmware updates have made the camera very performing in my opinion (I had no problems, for example, to track swallows in AF-C - not an easy subject - with a good percentage of shots in focus). In wildlife, or at least dynamic, photography, this camera represents a real step forward for Fuji. The same updates, however, have made the front dial configurable for ISO management, a very welcome possibility, which allows me to maintain the same "muscle memory" in the use of the H2S and my X-T. On the video side, I won't comment, as I'm not an expert and not particularly interested in these functions. In summary, the camera for me is promoted: of course, being a loyalist of the X-T series, if a Fuji X-T with stacked sensor or at least with the same operating speed were to arrive, I think I would immediately make the change. This does not change the fact that the x-H2s is a very good product, in my opinion even oversized for non-professional use.

Pros: Ergonomics, autofocus, beautiful jpegs and very workable RAW, possibility to set it in your own image and likeness

Cons: At 40 FPS the autofocus misses a few photos, but most are in focus

Opinion: I bought it in June 2023, and used it a lot, especially this summer and fall. For all those who had the problem of ISO, don't worry, now you can put them on one of the wheels or wherever you want. What amazed me the most was the autofocus that turned out to be incredibly accurate in sports (football, motosport, basketball and skiing) but also in the family sphere such as dogs and children, which are anything but easy subjects. I say that it surprised me because I had seen some videos that did not speak well of it at all and had almost convinced me not to buy it, then I rented it and tried it for a day on a football field (Serie A) and all doubts disappeared. It is obvious, however, that it also takes a bit of "craft". The files produced are the usual Fuji, and although the sensor is staked it produces the same files as those of my XT3 and my X100V and it is not a small thing, since they are really beautiful. The dynamic range is as good as the ISO hold, but not at the level of a full frame, especially the ISO hold. I also took the batterygrip, more for convenience than for necessity, since the battery lasts just the right amount and I must say that it is built really well, with all the necessary buttons replicated and well placed. In short, I'm glad I got it, so happy that I also took the smooth XH2, but that's another story. I read the review that precedes mine, that of Mr. Fabio Inse 84, who had autofocus problems with wide-angle lenses and I must say that I have never encountered such a problem! On the contrary, with my 8-16 the autofocus is very fast and accurate at all focal lengths and apertures. I hope you can solve your problem. Greetings to all

Pros: Ergonomics, viewfinder, jpeg colors

Cons: The VERY SERIOUS problem of the unreliability of single or continuous autofocus with wide-angle lenses and closed apertures in good light conditions.

Opinion: No more fujifilm. Unfortunately, no YouTube channel/review talks about this inconvenience, and it's a shame, because it would be fair to let any buyers know about a real problem that not only I have encountered. If you want to learn more, read the article on the Internet "The Wandering Lesman Fujifilm x Camera Focus Inconsistency Issue is Real Follow Up". There are also many testimonials about it, just do a quick search on the web. This fact is common to all fujifilm cameras, some more than others. In my case the xh2s was practically unusable while my xt4 suffers less but still suffers from it (just a quick test with the distance scale active as well described in the article I mentioned) With the last update the situation has not changed. I'm sorry to speak ill of this system but I think it's fair to warn other users.

Pros: High solidity feeling, great autofocus, beautiful viewfinder, excellent video features. Top ergonomics. CFExpress Type B support.

Cons: Impossible to adjust the ISO through any wheel, exposure height only from menu, non-clickable dials.

Opinion: Finally Fuji has also launched into the world of stacked sensors and does it very well. The camera body is perfect, it grips wonderfully and gives the impression of being a tank, very well built. for those with very large hands, you can add a battery grip, or an L-shaped bracket that, in my case, in addition to easily allowing me the vertical composition, solves the problem of the little finger "dangling". The menus are quite comfortable, well organized, although I preferred the photo / video switch on the X-T4, I do not understand why they removed it was very convenient and after Fuji, others have adopted the same practical solution. Really nice viewfinder, if possible, even more fluid and natural than the already excellent one present on the X-T4. Excellent autofocus, exceeds my abilities, at this point I have to improve before I can criticize it. With the latest update, even the 40 fps has a rather high rate in focus. The fact remains that then they must be seen and 40 fps are really too many for my patience! Image quality, we are at the same level as the X-T4 and it is a great result since stacked sensors often suffer more than traditional ones. The new color profiles are very nice, while I do not understand the choice to keep the toy filters, absolutely useless. For those who want to play with images, there are thousands of apps made on purpose. I know very little about the video part, but it seems really of a very high level, I will take the whim to make some videos to the animals. Excellent buffer that allows you to make bursts too long, in the end you are easily having to analyze over 1000 images, I suppose it is also thanks to the CFExpress card. Excellent also the stabilization that, for me, is superior to the X-T4, here you get really high levels, even for the video side. Very interesting, but this was imaginable being a stacked sensor, the usability of the electronic shutter. I almost forgot I had the mechanical one. We come to the cons that are there. The first and it is a very stupid thing, the ISO button does not adjust except by pressing a button, who knows what science will be needed to be able to assign it to a wheel ... mah Another stupid, with the X-T4 the rings are clickable and it is a very convenient thing, it makes the machine fast even for those who prefer a system completely based on the rings. Click and choose the aperture, click and choose the ISO, cool. Now they have removed it with the excuse of better waterproofing and then put it back on the X-T5. Similar speech for the ironing of the exposure, you choose only from the menu and there is no way to assign it to some key, less than less to a ring. Apart from these things that could be solved with firmware updates, the machine can boast the title of flagship in all respects.

Pros: Excellent ergonomics, very robust and built to perfection, stacked sensor with the right compromise of megapixels (26), fast and precise AFC (if we update it with the latest firmware 3.00), excellent color rendering with the possibility of various film simulation settings, churns out excellent JPG files ready to use, sufficiently good hold at high ISO, remarkable burst speed, tropicalized.

Cons: Above ISO 3200 the noise begins to be noticed a lot, quite slow in reactivating the functions from standby mode to operation.

Opinion: With the latest Firmware Update 3.00 released by Fuji on 12.01.2023 .... finally this machine has reached a level of AFC more than satisfactory, I dare say Excellent! in fact, if someone has read my previous personal opinion, I was complaining about the fact that the AFC was not performing in particular with fast-moving subjects such as birds, now, when you activate the burst and you want to catch a fast-moving bird, not only is it accurate but does not give it up anymore! with a burst of 40 FPS all or almost all the "shots" are scored, and for someone like me passionate about nature shots in particular birdlife, well I can confirm that the X-H2s has greatly changed the performance of AF and can finally compete head-on with other famous brands on the market! Among the sore points unfortunately I point out the tightness at high ISO, of course we are talking about an Apsc sensor where the ISO as known do not forgive but against all odds I would have expected at least a good seal at 6400 ISO being a camera body of the latest generation instead, already at 3200 ISO the frame has a decent noise cmq fully usable but I strongly advise against exceeding this range if you do not want to see spiders, worms and whatnot! Regarding other painful notes, I noticed a certain slowness in the transition from the "stby to use" mode takes a few moments too long and often this slowness made me lose precious and unrepeatable shots, there is a slight improvement only if we set the Booster mode but not much! I want to conclude in beauty by saying that the Stacked sensor works great! the image quality does not change compared to the shots taken with the Mechanical Shutter, no distortion of image, subject or other! it is so reliable that it is my favorite shooting mode with birdlife last but not least, Fuji's color rendering is unparalleled, even RAW files are already beautiful! Good shot to all!
