Opinion: After years spent in the company of reflex cameras such as the Canon 7D and the 6D Mark II, accompanied by historical lenses such as the 24-70mm f/2.8, the 70-300mm and the 35mm Macro, I found myself in front of a wall. I often left the camera body and lenses at home for convenience, ending up punctually regretting it. I sold everything and got a Fujifilm X-T50. Months later, I don't want to give technical evaluations, but to talk to you about pure newfound passion. With the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2 R WR lens, the camera becomes almost pocket-sized. This setup is allowing me to rediscover the pleasure of photography: I love using the physical aperture ring, the film simulation selector and the famous Fujifilm "recipes". Say goodbye to post-production (PP). My challenge today is to get a perfect JPG right in the room, color and/or BW, ready to be shared. I have already tested several lenses, both fixed and zoom (even third-party), with excellent performances. My lens now is to calmly recreate a small essential kit, without duplicates or overlaps, always ready for travel. Accounts in hand, the entire kit will weigh as much (if not less) than my old Canon with a single lens attached. Moving from "tank" bodies such as the 7D and 6D, I had to change my approach, the X-T50 is decidedly more delicate and you have to pay close attention to the lack of tropicalization; the autonomy is limited: it is essential for me to have a backup battery or a powerbank in my backpack; A small annoying defect concerns the flash aperture selector: it is easily attached by slipping the camera into the backpack or pocket, often triggering it unintentionally. Despite these small moles, photography has returned to being a daily pleasure and no longer a burden to be carried.

Opinion: I come from Canon 80D and I wanted a compact travel stuff that churned out ready-made files without going crazy with the PP. I opted for this even if until the last moment I fought with the XT-5 but the more than 500 euros difference made me opt for it. I didn't regret it. The machine is compact and lightweight. With the new kit you can put it in a jacket and you don't feel the weight at the neck at all. The dials are all customizable even if at the beginning you have to go a little crazy with the menus but then you understand the logic and everything is easier. The film ring is nice and allows you to be very creative. The only discordant note is the grip that is not really marked but is solved with a third-party component that can be purchased almost anywhere. The battery if used sparingly for a day of photos around is more than enough, clear that if you shoot the burst at 9/15fps the duration is reduced. I bring a spare battery anyway. The autofocus does its job even if I have to try it in sports situations to be able to understand the actual limits that many boast. Too bad I am not tropicalized but I don't have to shoot under a monsoon for 8h so I don't see this lack. In my opinion machine mistreated by many because of the price and the lack of tropicalization but in the end you take home a travel machine, compact, light, 40mpx and more or less the same functions as the XT-5 for 400/500 euros less. I am very satisfied.

The surprising thing is that it maintains many of the features of the xt5 in a very compact body (e.g. the stabilizer) and well made! It costs a lot but it does NOT have the characteristics of an entry level... Excellent noise, dynamic range and above all colors. With my fuji 27 mm pancake stays in a jacket pocket! Well done Fuji!

I use it with 3 fixed, Fujinon 14mm f2.8, Fujinon 23mm f1.4 LM WR, Zeiss touit 50mm f2.8 macro. All three lenses solve 40mpx and in 1.3 kg and a small bag you have a layette of excellent quality, you have to see it to believe it. Basically I have the classic triad 21-35-75mm on 35mm plus the ability to do macro. Sometimes I feel the need for tropicalization and a telephoto zoom, but the weight and size of the body do not allow it, or rather it would all be too unbalanced. For the rest everything at the top

Obviously its death is with fixed or small zooms (the new 16-50 and 16-55 are fine: I would avoid the largest and bulkiest telecommunications). Finally, a note on battery life: despite being the old W126, a day is done comfortably. With two you are more than sure: I imagine that the new hardware is less energy-intensive, because compared to the X-S10 the gain is still significant.
