Pros: Beautiful and design, minimal size, featherweight, ergonomics and grip, flash, battery life, responsiveness, totally settable dials and buttons, very fast autofocus, good and totally articulated LCD, image quality, stabilized, price. They say quality videos.
Cons: Plasticky, fragile appearance, lack of physical maf S-C-M selector, small viewfinder, mechanical shutter noise a little jarring, heats up a little too much. It is not a flagship. Not tropicalized.
Opinion: The aforementioned pros make it extremely pleasant to have with you, certainly it does not have the portability of a Ricoh III, but with the fixed Fuji f2 we are talking about 650 g and with the Sigma 18-50 800g. The three dials can be set at will and I organized them as I had them on the T4 and Pro3, including the four scrolls on the display. In fact, once everything is organized, it becomes rare to have to open the menu, only for particular settings, such as curves, various colors, etc. In addition, when necessary, my menu makes life easier. (Will Fuji come to churn out basic menus?). Unlike the other Fuji it does not have the physical selector for single/continuous/manual focus, and I don't like this, I consider it the most serious lack of the S20. For the rest the camera is fast (excellent processor 5) in any function, it turns on immediately, the af locks instantly and never gives up, it leads you to remove the A and work with the M, you manage well and quickly any exposure parameter without taking your eye off the viewfinder which, even if a little small, is enough to compose. The sensor is exceptional, I think that 26 mpx for an aps-c is "perfection", then managed by a cutting-edge processor like the 5. Files with the right weight (shot in JPG+RAW) well workable, partially croppable, low noise with high ISO, with a range that tolerates and forgives exposures against the laws of physics. Now it's 40, but for an aps-c I personally find the 26 more balanced and the results satisfy me. I use it as a second body, the first is a ff of 60 mpx and from 1200 g upwards depending on the case and with rows from another planet, however going out with the small and light S20 is fun, it puts you in a good mood. It starts as a toy and then becomes a cool and engaging shooting. It can be found new at about 1200 euros, used on 800, the f2.0 Fuji are taken used between 200 and 300 euros, so with 1100-1200 you have a good quality configuration, on the other hand you have to try to defend yourself from these freewheeling increases in the prices of the new. I share with Joofer that he is more than an entry level. With the Sigma 18-50 then it's a lot of stuff. For me it's a 9.5. |
