The distortion at 20mm is there but it's not dramatic, the software correction doesn't stretch the image too much. Already at 23mm when compared to the fixed it has better distortion, similar sharpness and equal weight. This is to give an idea of the extraordinary object created by Fuji engineers. The real weakness of this 20-35mm is the diffraction at 20mm. This focal length is the sharpest but it has this defect that, at least for me, is a nuisance. As mentioned above at f5.6 it's awesome... but at f8 it drops! At f11 it is already almost unusable on the 100s and even on the 50SII it is very noticeable. F5.6 is the pinnacle and it's a real shame not to be able to aperture, without suffering such a noticeable drop. Already at 23-24mm the problem is much less invasive, at 28mm or 35mm f11 and even f13 you can use it without problems for example. Either way, it's still an amazing wide-angle zoom, and I'd definitely buy it again.
