Pros: Compactness, Quality, MAF Speed, Lens hood

Cons: No WR, Noise

Opinion: Beautiful optics that I haven't owned for long but that I've used enough to be able to review. Let's start with the positives, including the construction, which is quite sturdy; the speed of the MAF, the optical quality itself which, in addition to having a small feature in the photos, also has a good resistance to flare; Lens hood which in itself is very nice and very very functional. At full aperture it's pretty sharp in the middle and then loses at the edges, but that's okay, it fits. As sore points I must say that they are small things that nowadays make someone choose something else, including, the fact that there is no WR, believe me that for those who use this photo in the street, in my opinion it is fundamental or at least a not insignificant plus; the general noise, between the diaphragm and the MAF which make this lens not suitable for video, as long as you use an external microphone. In short, to conclude, it is a lens that is undoubtedly loved by those who do street and love to immerse themselves in the moments and for those who do landscape, since it is still a wide-angle, or for those who love the equivalent 28mm; without a doubt, nowadays it deserves an update to make it silent first and foremost and above all WR. If they were to upgrade the optics, I would certainly be one of the first to make the switch. And anyway, the fact that you can find it used for about 320 - 400 euros, makes it clear that as old as it may be, it is a great gem. P.S I don't spend any ideas when it comes to the cap, since I always keep the lens hood and it has never been put on.

Pros: Compactness, weight, size, small and squared hood (it's nice, which does not hurt), optical quality

Cons: You can not remove / put the cap without first removing the hood, optical quality

Opinion: The optical quality is very good even if not excellent (for example the Sigma fixed art series at those focal lengths are another thing), and it is for this reason that I indicated it both in the strengths and weaknesses, but it is a fun, cheeky lens, with its own "character", microcontrast enough and that never disappoints. The AF is in my opinion good, better than the 35 1.4 that I have, probably, indeed certainly less performing than the new 18mm f / 1.4. For professionals perhaps, but I emphasize perhaps, the new 1.4 is preferable, but for all the others a highly recommended lens, except perhaps for sports photos or in any case for those where a super performing AF is required. I keep it perpetually mounted for several months now on my X-T4 and I am absolutely satisfied.

Pros: Compactness, weight, opening

Cons: In my way of seeing no one

Opinion: I have been using it for more than a year, I bought it used like all the optics that I own and that I have owned. With a reasonable expense you take home a 27mm equivalent with which to really do everything. When I want to be light I bring only him, with his angle of view allows me to take street shots but also not too wide views. If I need to take a close shot, its minimum MAF allows honest close ups that can be "helped" with a crop in post production to decrease the field of view of the lens. Its max aperture of F2 allows you to detach the subject from the background without completely canceling it as a canvas would. With portraits you have to be careful not to get too close to the subject so as not to deform it, let's say that it is great for setting. Used at intermediate diaphragms it has an excellent sharpness. A F8 -F11 can be used safely for landscapes. The autofocus is good. The hood is very cool. Diameter for any filters, small, therefore economical. Having the diaphragm ring on the barrel is great. I would buy it back 100 times.

Pros: Compact, focal length, typical yield of the first fujifilm, metal hood

Cons: Noisy autofocus, no wr. Softness at the edges? It depends in which scope the lens cap is used, which cannot be removed without also removing the hood.

Opinion: It does not excel in anything and this is precisely its value. On all aspects that affect a lens, the 18 f2 is good, not bad, not the best. And in this sense it is satisfying to use it, because you will know that if something beautiful comes out of it it is for your abilities and not for the blur, for hypernitidezza etc etc. The fact that it is small and light allows you to always keep it around your neck even with a machine of the xt or xpro series. The autofocus even on old bodies (used intensively in the last few days with an xpro1) is quite fast, just noisy. I also used it for some videos on xt3 and it is also great for that, if you have the foresight to use an external microphone away from the machine (something that anyone who makes videos that want to look professional must do, otherwise I do them with the mobile and less banging).

Pros: Font, size, hood

Cons: Noisy Maf

Opinion: I tried literally all the lenses (and not just fuji)... in the end I found the final lens in the one I always snubbed and then bought last. I am very complicated about changing the lenses, this time I managed to take a vacation without ever taking off the lens. I was looking for small lenses without bringing zooms but at the same time I didn't want to change lenses too many times. This is beautiful with its vintage style, the hood is fantastic and makes effect in x-pro bodies Perfect focal length (subjective I know), af all in all fast on xpro3 even if a little noisy. Qualitatively it seems fantastic to me in the center, however a perfect lens for the street. Happy finally, maybe in the future they will make a quieter version (without increasing the size!!)
