The AF is not able to track subjects, especially at f/1.4-2. the MF clutch is very comfortable in landscape and astro, hell in dynamic situations: it doesn't take much for it to move, putting the camera in MF and making you lose some shots, even if it doesn't sprint completely towards the MF position. AC marked against the light (especially, but not only, with metal objects). Unfortunately a new version is missing, the 18 is not a 16 and already the 16 is a hair tight every now and then, for my taste.

Opinion: I bought this lens at the release of Fuji's new 18mm f1.4, taking advantage of a price drop that made the 16mm very attractive. I was satisfied with the build quality, image quality and color rendering. Lens in full Fuji style. In my opinion, the management of distortion is also formidable. The weight and dimensions are much greater than Fuji's F2 series, but the increased brightness and the different optical scheme require necessary different ingomrbi. The AF is not among the fastest of Fuji lenses but still performing. Compared to the new 18mm it suffers some structural "gap" related to age, especially in terms of sharpness perhaps, but given the costs the 16mm remains at the moment an excellent choice.

Incredible sharpness, very little flare, almost zero distortions, minimum focus distance almost from macros and plus wr. Absolutely recommended! Also tested for alternative portraits, street and "still life". The price from new is high but in gray markets it takes home at an honest price when compared to the quality offered! Beautiful colors and, I repeat, scream sharpness. At 1.4 it is clearly a soft thread but well above average
