Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, colors, everything.

Cons: Price and weight.

Opinion: Tried on one occasion, and what can I say... A boulder that is nice to hold, but as soon as you put your eye in the viewfinder and shoots a paradise appears in the live view. Dreamy, fairytale bokeh, perfect colors, zero smudges at the corners (full opening), if one owns it he will never disassemble it from the camera body, magnificent! Too bad it costs an eye of the head and for an amateur I do not think it is worth it.

Pros: Sharpness and bokeh in the first place

Cons: If it had been stabilized, it would have been the non plus ultra.

Opinion: First of all, it is responsive, fast and silent if we consider the type and size. Nevertheless, it is accurate and precise in focus and is extraordinarily engraved in sharpness. But the flagship is certainly the blurred, something for which, basically, it is chosen: soft in the transition of perspective planes, creamy and fairytale, never brutal despite the very high resolution and very pleasant even in the area in front of the subject in the foreground and not only in the negative space behind it. The frame with a dreamlike scent that gives designates it as a worthy successor of its EF counterpart for SLR, compared to which it remains, in any case, sharper already at TA and markedly faster in operational use. Of course the stabilizer would have been convenient, but it would certainly have complicated the configuration of weight and dimensions; Moreover, being dedicated, substantially, to mirrorless with stabilization on the sensor, relegates its absence to the case of a completely negligible element. I sincerely thank Dario Delfine for the valuable information given to me regarding this wonderful perspective.

Pros: Fast in M.a.F (considered the glass that must move); scary engraving since 1.2; blurry never seen before; elegant and essential design; very comfortable front ring; lampshed with convenient unlock button.

Cons: To the touch it returns the feeling of less robustness than its brother EF (Big One)

Opinion: Purchased taking advantage of the Cash back of 400 € at the end of November 2020. I would like to start by saying that having worked with both the Big One, the 105 Sigma Art, the 135 EF f. 2, the 100 EF f. 2 (and therefore of portrait objectss I have known), I must say that no one before had given me the satisfaction that this splendid optics is giving me. Much of the credit also goes to the R6 which with its eye tracking system, has not yet made me miss a shot with this lens. For me it is perfection and the only thing that I did not like for now (but then not so much), is the fact that, despite being abundantly bigger and heavier than the big brother EF, to the touch it returns a slight feeling of less robustness: but maybe it is just my feeling. Surely in fact it will be even more robust, but so much so! The front ring is really cool. You can assign it various functions and it is really useful (but this is present on all RF). What can I say? It costs quite a bit, but for those like me who work on it it is an essential tool. I'm sorry I had to give away the Big One to amortize the cost of this a little bit, but even having the Sigma 105 1.4 I couldn't do otherwise. For now I have only tried it with shots taken in the family, given the moment, but as soon as the working season resumes and I can try it by putting it under pressure, I will update the review with other impressions. for me it is from 9.9 just because to the touch I still have the memory of the Big One! Update to January 24, 2021: used as a lens by still life; better than the 100 macro Canon L! For those who have doubts, I recommend seeing among my galleries the one entitled Still Life. This lens is worth more than it costs. I'm sure I'll use it more than any I own.

Pros: the state-of-the-art optical engineering, for the best lens on the market at the moment, along with 85 rf 1.2 and 28/70 f2 rf

Cons: price, weight over 1kg,no image stabilizer

Opinion: February 2018-middlesex united kingdom, canon unveils to pro photographers the EOS R system, present all the Japanese management of the parent company of tokyo. I have the invitation, but I do not want to pay for the flight and a week of stay in the United Kingdom out of my own pocket, by pure chance I have to take a job in that of London, I like two pigeons with one bee, flight and stay paid by the customer. I also meet two, three English colleagues I haven't seen in years. We are shown the whole roadmap of the EOS R system, from the beginning until the end of the project, when he will be retired for the new system that will replace it, but I do not take notes because I do not care, and because I have little memory. A naivety with no more than 40 years, global product manager canon takes the floor. It begins to explain how the lenses are built, with the Rf attack a new element has been introduced between the lenses called BR (blue spectrum refractive) or something like that, practically the rgb waves (red, yellow, blue) have different wavelengths, sometimes causing unpleasant chromatic aberrations, especially lateral, canon technicians have patented this invention that cancels all aberrations by placing all colors on the same wavelength making the optics much sharper than its nominal opening. In fact if combined with my 85 ef 1.2 I have to say that the rf is much sharper. The optics give f2 images that anyone sees says WOW, although already at f1.2 it is sharp all over the frame. To the lovers of the bokeh I immediately say that this optics does not blur like a "normal" bokeh but offers a Guassian blur, for now the only one on the market, the bokeh produces details out of focus, the Guassian blur does not. One thing I noticed about this lens is the blurring, without texture or other unpleasant aliases,it looks like plastic that melts,as well without distorsione.la thing that can bother you is the noise of the motor of the autofocus, there is a lot and heavy to move, scor You have to have an STM in your hands, it's still the price to pay for having a lens in your hand that is state of the art, none like her, along with the 28/70 f2 rf, and I also have 10,000-dollar lenses. At the end of the explanation vine given on trial to all photographers present for three months an eos r with related lenses, the 85 1.2 normal and ds,28-70 f2.50 f 1,2,100-500 f 4,5-7,1,800 f 11 is stm rf. One of the canon managers tells me that in the end he can no longer do without this system,I wonder why?he answers me if he finds a better lens than the 85mm rf 1.2 ds and the 28/70 f 2 l rf usm canon gives him two more equals. I must say that that manager was right, not only for me but also for the other pros present.there is nothing to do again canon surprised me,which the other brands I have to support are not able to do.obviously the photographic product, it is not for niche brands or born yesterday, the photographic product requires considerable investments and a long research that those who are small or do not have market share can not afford, because they do not have resources to invest.
