Pros: Compact and at the same time solid lens despite the cheap construction, rather versatile focal range, good sharpness. Super stabilization for video makers.

Cons: Software-corrected distortion, unsaturated colors in RAW, variable aperture rather closed. Not very suitable for night photography.

Opinion: Purchased almost as a joke because I use focal lengths below 24mm very little, it has instead become very pleasant to use when you want to change perspective. It is true that the sharpness is not exceptional and that the colors are a bit flat, but the final result clearly depends on post-production as well. For the price paid it is a beautiful glass without too many frills, ideal for those genres where the relatively closed opening is not a limit. I'm using it for landscaping, architecture, interiors.

Pros: Light, small, cheap, good sharpness, for now I haven't noticed any obvious flare or aberrations, the autofocus is smooth and doesn't emit any noise so it's also well usable for video. Despite being made of plastic, it appears to be solid.

Cons: For the price that is new on the Italian online market I would say none. Even if really pure RAW has distortions and evident vignetting that are corrected well by various software or in camera.

Opinion: My review starts from two assumptions, the first that I paid for it new on offer online from Rome for only € 399 and that I used for two years RF 15-35 f/2.8 L IS USM! Surely you can't make comparisons between the two because "they play two different leagues", with the L series you take the photo and it's already ready engraved correct with top build quality. If I think about the price I paid with the PROs described above and the good photographic result you can take home, I couldn't have chosen better. But if I want to spend two minutes more to correct the very slight distortions, which LR or PS do not do with their automatic lens profile, and increase the perceived sharpness with the various Topaz or other, then I feel really satisfied with the purchase because I can reach a level that does not make me regret the top of the range. Great to use for videos as well. The 2.8 diaphragm is needed??? Not to me! On a wide angle I don't need much, for the Milky Way now I can never use even at f/4 or even more because with software noise is no longer a big limit. I will certainly travel lighter and more serene. But one thing I still haven't understood is whether the declared 15mm are with lens correction or not!
