Pros: Superwide focal range like no other - final quality - compactness - lightness

Cons: Exposed front lens (no filters) - price

Opinion: It is a simply magnificent lens, at least for those who appreciate this extreme focal range. It is not easy to dominate such a vast corner of the field, and you have to be careful of abuses and tacky effects; but this depends on the user of it, not on the objective itself. It is a "born digital" lens for which it is designed according to firmware / software post-shooting corrections: however, the thing works so well that the results are superior to those of its predecessor from Canon, or the EF 11-24/4 L that I had in the past. https://www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?l=it&t=4804261

Pros: angle of view, contrast, sharpness, color richness, footprint, weight

Cons: No one, as far as I'm concerned

Opinion: As a happy owner of the Canon EF 11-24mm f/4 L USM I thought that such a lens could not be improved and so, switched from the 5D MKIV to the R5 I used that lens with the adapter for a few months. Unfortunately, the bulk, weight and "unbalance" during use convinced me to change it to the Canon RF 10-f/4 L IS, hoping to maintain the same level of quality. After a few weeks of use I had to change my mind: if I didn't think an improvement was possible, I noticed quite a few. Beyond the millimeter gained in amplitude (and the 4 lost, but I also have the 24-70 and therefore it is not serious) I found myself with a lighter, more balanced lens, with better color rendering and, at least apparently, with better sharpness at the edges. All other defects are easily eliminated in post-production. Personally, I rarely use this lens for landscapes or architectural photos, I prefer to use it because it allows me to "get to the heart of it" of many situations (dance, sports, concerts...) where there is no "main subject" but the action is the focus of the event. As for the price, I find it in line with the quality of the product and is even lower than the Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM. Indispensable for "creative photography".

Pros: Travel, sharpness, weight and footprint

Cons: Cost and its "difficulty of use"

Opinion: I'll start with the cons: the cost is really considerable, given that the correction is entrusted to the software and not optical and it is a really challenging goal. Let me explain: the considerable width of field at 10mm really requires a lot of detail to fill the frame, otherwise you risk leaving large gaps in the frame empty or meaningless. If used in the architectural field, then, it requires the utmost attention that it is in vertical level otherwise there are many falling lines that can then be difficult to eliminate in post and that in any case make you lose frames. The positive sides, on the other hand, are its extreme excursion (I think maybe there is only a 9mm straight lens) which allows frames unthinkable for any other lens (there is still a lot of difference between 10mm and the various 12mm wide angles) and its sharpness. It really is a blade. Finally, its weight and bulk are really contained - reminiscent of the mammoth and very heavy EF 11-24 I owned. Conclusion: definitely a niche lens that the vast majority of amateur photographers will not need (the more common 14 or 15 mm of Canon's other wide-angles are more than enough in 99% of cases), but if you want a unique lens, if you like to photograph perhaps churches or you want an endless width of field in landscapes, it is to be taken, albeit with some economic sacrifices.
