Pros: Excellent image quality. Excellent build quality. Simple and reliable.

Cons: None.

Opinion: This was our second digital camera. We bought it in 2003 and now in 2018 it still works and gives superb images. Some newer cameras will have better tonal range and I think all cameras now give you more pixels. But how many pixels can you fit on your screen? Mechanically, I dropped this camera at least 3 times - one time from about 1.5 meter onto a concrete floor. Who cares, it still works. I think Canon should give me a new equivalent for client loyalty. The problem is I tested new G1X III and it is nowhere as well made as that old G3. We also have a much newer Nikon P7800 which sometimes gives better images but which is mechanically inferior to Canon G3. We also test now a Fuji mirrorless X-T1 which is a joke compared to Canon when it comes to interface and operability. Bravo Canon.
