While I appreciate the better overall imaging qualities of, e.g., the Zeiss 50/2 (Milvus version), or the Summicron-R 50/2 (version II), this Canon FD from my earlier times happens to outclass all Nikkors at f/1.4. I was even shocked to see better night shot results than with the legendary Noct Nikkor. Mounted on APS-C or m43 cameras, it also works as a fine short tele.
