Pros: Very good image quality - sharp, good contrast and bokeh. Light, compact, fast and silent AF with FTM, popular 58mm filter thread. And all that for less than $400.

Cons: Color aberrations (the fringing) can be too much sometimes, in some specific lighting conditions. Disappointing lens hood design, and it's not included. The minimum focusing distance is 0.85m and it doesn't make it a good close-up lens.

Opinion: In short, for the price, it's a dream lens. A wonderful option for someone starting his FF adventure. The moment I put it on my 5D2 for the first time it was like magic. I could shoot a nice, or seemingly flawless picture of anything and everything with it. Almost no boring images. I even kept many misfocused ones. Compared to a cheap 50F1.8, this is a next level lens. And it's the level that I'm comfortable with to this day. Pros: Great quality at TA. Small and pocket-sized. Great value for money.

Opinion: I feel like criticizing only the lack of stabilization as a real defect, at 85mm the tremors can be felt more in videos (also because the lens is light and does not give solidity and firmness to the hand), even if having the Canon R6 has the stabilized sensor I can't complain too much. For the rest it's FINE. The image at f/1.8 is already sharp and contrasted, at f/2.5/2.8 the photos become poetry. The focusing speed is good, but less fast than the 50mm f1.4 and not suitable for videos in my opinion because it is not 100% reliable, it happens sometimes chw does not take focus. 85mm is a narrow focal length but still very manageable. I use it to take photos in crossfit competitions where I can get very close to the athletes to take beautiful portraits. Highly recommended because it adds that something extra and stands out from the classic 70-200 f/2.8 and can be found at a really cheap price.
