Pros: Small in size and weight, it fits in the breast pocket. There are no focusing problems, already at f 5.6 it is in focus from 2 meters to infinity. It is found at prices incomparable with any new lens of equal or superior quality and allows really special shots even in the street and even in ambient portraits.

Cons: It works on Leica M only with the Voigtlander ring (I tried others, from other brands, Marumi, Urth, nothing to do). Vignetting, obvious for the focal length, focus by hand, as in the past, reading the metric scale. The lens cap, made of metal with logo, should be kept as a relic, it is impossible to find. Fixed lens hood without the possibility of mounting filters. A lot of light is needed

Opinion: Version 1 M39 screw connection with Voigtlander 28-90 adapter. I have read several reviews that unite the three series. I only tried the first series on Leica M10 and, honestly, I don't find it so disastrous in terms of edge coloring. Like all extreme wide-angle lenses, it suffers from a lack of sharpness at the edges but it must be remembered that it is a lens born for film. Who in the darkroom would have started to enlarge the angle of a shot on film to 100%? A must have if you want to give a different cut to your images. The width of the field of view also allows you to shoot objects and people not directly framed. However, pay attention to the camera angle if you don't want exaggerated distortions.

Pros: Compact, light, framed field

Cons: Problems with many digital cameras, field curvature and vignetting.

Opinion: This lens is part of a series of optics produced by Cosina at the end of the years ' 90 to relaunch the historic Voigtlander brand after acquiring it. Designed for 35mm rangefinder cameras, the lens is adaptable to mirrorless and digital Leica, but in most cases it creates problems because of the sensor filter, which causes false colors in the edges of the image. Its problems in this regard are particularly known with the Sony mirrorless, both full frame and APSC. On Fuji equipped with Xtrans sensor This problem should not occur (beware though, there is no definite information about this!). I have experienced it on a Fuji XM1 and I have not had such problems. Another known problem is the curvature of the focus field, which causes poor sharpness at the edges relative to the center. On APSC This problem is rather limited while on FF it is really serious. The vignetting, inevitable in such small lenses with this focal, on APSC is easily correctable, while on FF is really heavy. There are two versions of the Voigtlander Super-Heliar 15mm f4, 5 ASPH, one with LTM screw-mount (version I) and the other with bayonet M (version II, the latter if I am not mistaken has the Leica rangefinder coupling). Both are identical from the optical point of view and give the same problems with the digital ones. Version III is designed for digital Leica and is almost identical to the Sony E-mount version. These last two versions do not give color problems.

Pros: Look, construction, extreme compactness.

Cons: Marked color cast and lack of sharpness at the edges at any aperture (on sony A7R by Novoflex adapter)

Opinion: A small optical beautifully built, solid as a rock and very compact. At the center sharpness is very good but the quality fell dramatically at the edges where there is a significant vignetting and a marked color cast (extremely marked on Sony A7R, more acceptable on Leica M bodies) tending to magenta at the edges and the yellow / brown on upper edge of the frame. A shame really because this light is very pleasant to use and offers a great tactile feel once assembled.
