Pros: Compatibility on Canon Eos 5D MK III and 6D MK II bodies with all the optics of my kit, imperceptible loss of sharpness, light.

Cons: I didn't find any

Opinion: In search of this multiplier on the used market, for the pro illustrated, I found a seller who was selling it in bulk together with the Pro 300 DGX 2x of which I was a little sceptical. Given the favorable price I took them as a couple and I did not regret it, because I have to say that for both are worth the same pros and to date no cons, with the optics with which I use them, especially Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro USM and Canon 70-200 f4 L IS USM. Concerned about possible incompatibilities with the 6D MK II complained of by other reviewers, I have to say that with mine he did not manifest any problems. Over-recommended

Pros: Compatibility with EVERY lens (even those not compatible with the original extenders), image quality, construction solidity, low cost and great value for money

Cons: Some slowdown in autofocus (but nothing), pairing with heavy lenses could strain and cause some minimal play

Opinion: I own both this and the 2x (which I actually bought "for a snful" but I hardly ever use). Most of the time I use it coupled with the Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro: you lose a stop (it becomes a 140mm f/4 equivalent), but the autofocus slows down little and especially the image quality is practically indistinguishable from the "smooth" optics (at least on the sensor of my Canon 5D mark II, I imagine that on denser sensors and/or with less solvent optics can be noticed more), without sharpening or particular chromatic aberrations. Very useful with "timid" subjects, which you can not get too close to and/or if you want to go beyond 1:1 magnification in macros without loss of quality. I remember that, like all focal multipliers, this also multiplies the defects of the lens, so I recommend using it only with quality optics. Purchase definitely recommended, also for good hold in the used (you buy and sell easily around the hundred euros).

Pros: Robustness, image quality, cost, maintains automation.

Cons: I'd say nothing.

Opinion: Kenko, part of the Tokina Group, is a guarantee of quality. I mainly use it paired with the Canon 70-200 f4 IS USM L, it loses a stop, but that's fine, it would also lose it with the original Canon series III. I don't notice significant image decays and it seems robust and well built. I have been using it since 2014 and I noticed that on Kenko's official website, it is still in production, while on Juzaphoto no, why?

Pros: AF, image quality, price

Cons: For now, I'd say no one.

Opinion: Purchased used by RCE for 110 euros with a year's seller's warranty, my model is almost identical to the new one. As soon as I arrived I immediately mounted it on Canon 5D Mk. III and 400 L 5.6 and... Show! You lose a stop, so you start as the maximum opening to f8, but you don't lose in quality compared to the smooth lens. Sharpness, chromatisms, everything seems more than discreet. A monitor, enlarging to 100 percent, you feel a minimum drop but nothing that can not be solved with a little sharpening. I have taken back well-lit bushes, almost in the backlight and does not present scandalous chromatic aberrations. The autofocus hooks without hesitation in the afternoon luca: I will soon take away the curiosity to try it in the dim light of the beech trees up, towards the Amiata. Some reviews refer to a certain game of optics on the multiplier: in my case none of this. I assume they came across somewhat mistreated objects where the bayonet suffered because of heavy optics left to dangle... Considering also the price of a Canon equivalent, also used, this contraption wins with low hands. It also refers to compatibility with optics that the original does not have. Why spend more? Recommended.

Pros: Perfect match with all goals, very low price

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: I use it more strongly with the Tokina ATX-PRO 100mm F/2.8 D Macro and the pairing is perfect, from a qualitative point of view it seems to have a lens without teleconverter. Identical behavior on both the D750 and the D5300. It does not produce aberrations or distortions whatsoever. Although used with not-so-bright zooms (f/5.6 - 6.3) it produces excellent results in terms of sharpness and contrast. Very recommended for macro, as with it you exceed RR 1:1, without image degradation.
