On all other occasions, if you have the desire to carry it around given the weight and the size it gives an excellent performance, sharpness to sell (I used it on 16mpx apsc of the 7000, on 12 mpx of the 700 and on 36 mpx of the 800) on all the cameras with which I have used it, really beautiful old style colors and very nice and mellow bokeh, at least for my taste. If I hadn't had to optimize the kit for the desire to switch to ML I would never have sold it.

Also, contrary to what is said below, I think it does not weigh even exaggeratedly... the lens from which I come weighs almost equal (and offers less, except in the bokeh, where the 135 wins with low hands). Impeccable in all respects, it provides plastic and sharp images, almost as much as AFS 85 F1, 8. Unfortunately it is really big and heavy in practice equal to the 80-400, negative point not just in some respects but positive for others, because the inertia of its mass helps to stabilize the shot. As already reported for other lenses of this generation: it is the first AFS of Nikon that is a little ' more delicate and inclined to failures than the current, so pay attention to the purchase of the used; However, it has a very fast autofocus that, coupled with the right machine, allows an effective chase even of the most difficult moving subjects (such as children in swing) without risking blurred images.
