Pros: A visible, albeit not important, increase in quality is gained compared to pp crop. Weight & Size

Cons: AF on older optics loses some polish

Opinion: Used with 6d Mark 2 and 5dsr with Canon 400 5.6 and 500 4.5. /. Shooting with optical viewfinder./ With the 400 speed and af accuracy lose very little on either body. On the 500 with 6d mark 2 if you want to refocus from a near object to a distant one you often have to go step by step approaching a little at a time, which makes it slow in naturalistic, if you don't have a precise composition to make. The situation changes a lot on 5dsr where paired with the 500 the af remains much smoother and more usable. Surprisingly, the 5dsr's dense sensor holds up very well to an extender. /. Live view shooting./ All combinations with the 1.4x III benefit from live view shooting in terms of speed and accuracy at the expense of all the advantages of time and precision that tracking a subject in the viewfinder can give.

Pros: No significant loss of focus speed; slight image quality decay; lightness; compactness.

Cons: Nobody.

Opinion: I've been using this extender for almost a year on a 100 400 ii and a 300 2.8 ii and it has positively surprised me with regard to maintaining excellent image quality and a good focusing speed. On my 100 400 ii I notice a slight drop in image that often makes me prefer the smooth use of the lens; While on my 300 2.8 II the sharpness remains nothing short of exceptional. With the extender the diaphragm of my 300 becomes f4 wide open which I prefer, always or almost, to close to 5.6 to get more sharpness.

Pros: Lightness, sharpness

Cons: I haven't found any

Opinion: A little gem to always have with you. Used in conjunction with the Canon EF 70-200 f / 4 is L series and especially for over 4 years with the Canon EF 100-400 is II L series, with the "old" SLR has always behaved very well, practically I have never noticed loss of sharpness. On the other hand, with an R6, always with the same lens, I could find a slight "fogging" of the image when mounted. I sold it together with the above optics opting for the native RF 100-500 that I intend to use without multipliers to the advantage of sharpness and greater aperture (f / 7.1 instead of f / 8) at the small cost of a very modest loss of mm (500 instead of 560). In summary, recommended on SLRs!!!

Pros: When used with the right optics, camera and light conditions, it doubles the focal length without significant loss of optical quality and AF.

Cons: Subject to the above, nothing.

Opinion: I use it to "double" my EF 500 L f4 IS III. I find it great (read the pros and cons) for what it allows me to do when the distance becomes prohibitive for the lens. Together with the little brother 1.4x is fixed in the backpack that houses the equipment that I carry in the circuits. Not to be used, of course, in the presence of strong rises of hot air where the bad result would be attributed to the photographer and not to the combination lens + dupli...;-))

Pros: Construction

Cons: Loss of sharpness such as to make it useless

Opinion: Tested with 7D MK2 and 100-400 II Identical light conditions, shooting with and without multiplier Images without duplicator have always been slightly better (sharper) , despite the greater crop of photos without multiplier. So it is useless and therefore unusable. I don't understand the many enthusiastic comments.
