Pros: Exremely well built, unbelievably sharp from 2.8 ,nice colors, very well controlled distortion

Cons: heavy

Opinion: I have bought the lens a week ago. Tested it shooting landscapes and flowers!. What can I say? Beautiful ,sharp,16 mm wide is amazing.. very impressed. My copy at least is as I describe it above. Its awesome ,I have all Nikon lenses (not the 14-24) and honestly this is AMAZING..AMAZING. Price is excellent for such a lens at this range. Just a final word ,a pro lens.

Pros: Construction: like a tank - Sharpness: from f4 onwards a razor - Second-hand price: a bargain - Distortion: almost absent and well contained.

Cons: It suffers from flare - it does not mount circular filters - weight, but not too much either.

Opinion: Purchased on the baya in excellent condition and inviting price, it was miraculously delivered to me under the holiday period 6 days before the scheduled date. The first thing that catches the eye is the goodness of the construction and the generous weight, as well as the typically native aesthetic beauty of the Tokina house. Mounted on the camera body it is balanced and not at all invasive but the weight, carrying it around, after a while makes itself felt. Optically excellent with overflowing sharpness from side to side. From f4 onwards it really becomes a razor with excellent contrast and consistent color restitution. It suffers from flare but with a glass of this size I think it is inevitable. Just pay attention to wild backlights and everything will be solved. It cannot mount circular filters, it is true, but there are adapters for linear filters on the market that solve the problem. The almost absence of distortion is surprising given the curvature of the front lens. At a third of the price of "emblazoned" lenses it can do the same things and some even better: what more could you want?

Pros: Sharpness in the middle, honest price, quality and robustness

Cons: Poor sharpness at the edges and coma, slow AF, low flare resistance, is not tropicalized, you can not disassemble the lampshade

Opinion: Taken as the first lens to be mounted on Nikon D750. Despite being plastic it has excellent build quality, solid and reliable. Although the sharpness in the center is acceptable at full opening, at the edges it is scarce and the coma is quite noticeable causing the nose to twist to those who have the craze for perfection. Moreover, the AF is sometimes uncertain and slow, I would not use it in dynamic situations if not used properly. I replaced it because adding more pieces to my optical park the total weight was starting to become challenging.

Pros: Unbeatable quality price, good color yield, overall quality.

Cons: Not tropicalized (at that price?), slight loss on the edges, flare to handle

Opinion: The lens would have marketed even with 200 euros more list. He deserves them all and even more. I used it for reportage, landscapes and interiors and I can only be satisfied. I matched a dedicated Ring Haida and 3 slab filters, to get better results in some situations. In the reportage you have to pay attention to the backlights and side sources, which could leave halos of light on the shot. The lens is very protruding and feels the light from the sides, despite the built-in lampshade. Convenient if spartan, switching from af to manual, pulling the lens back. It works, so it's fine, I'm interested in lenses and less aesthetic solutions ema more functional. 16-28 covers a good angle, there are those who do better with 15-30 but you have to put the rest on it. The combination with the slab filters, of high quality, has given me good satisfaction in the past. Slow that I definitely recommend, solid as a grenade. It weighs, but there are few lenses that do not weigh and if we do not talk about 500mm sincerely I do not see a problem, in the bag or with the strap on the side: problem solved ;-) Slow fire problems? The lens for sporty use, is connected remotely (otherwise you stand on the hood when they pass). By hand, in broad daylight, problems do not give. At 16 or 28 mm the fire catches it in a fraction, and the engine does not go back and forth

Pros: The end of the race is infinite, robust, to switch from AF to MF

Cons: hardly recoverable distortion, rainbow flares hardly manageable

Opinion: I owned this lens for about a year, affected by the focal excursion, the fact that it was 2.8 and the dial to switch from AF to MF, things that I considered very useful for astronomical photography, the lens works well or anyway was very balanced with regard to the color rendering, I had some problems pairing the aforementioned with canon 6d markII giving problems with live shot view solved immediately excluding some settings in the machine ,I have noticed a considerable distrog often not easy recovery, but I think it is given precisely by very wide-angle lenses I replaced this lens for excessive flare with rainbow colors, and for a problem encountered with block diaphragms, in the replacement I preferred to replace it with a canon 17-40 f4 that turns darker than the tokina but until now has faced much worse situations with better results , I could recommend it as a lens for astronomical use, or if you want to exploit the dystrophion of the lens for particular effects, but the advice for difficult situations and against light, the lens is very heavy and already after a few minutes of use makes its presence felt
